i HATE this debate. how are the hunger games and twilight alike in any way??? where are the lobisomens and sparkly vampiros in the hunger games??? when does bella actually get off her bunda and fight in twilight?? the hunger games won't be like twilight. ever. got over it all you weirdos who want another twilight. there will never be another twilight. there will never be another harry potter (percy jackson got that crap) and you should just accept that. new filmes are not meant to replace old movies. just watch it and be happy.
I think that the Hunger games and Twilight will never be the same and that teams are just an opinion that people should respect :) Like I prefer Gale but I'm not like OMG TEAM GALE FORVER giggl giggle! lol
this just isn't a story one should reduce to the point where all that's left is only some generic amor triangle... HG appeals to a great amount of people - not only young adults - because there's lots of stuff to be curious about: thrill and action, a post-apocalyptic world, an inner struggle, many different and unique characters, political issues we've been dealing with since the birth of humanity, romance and of cause the taboo topic of "teens killing each other". romance is important but it makes me wanna barf seeing a sparkling vampire shinig in the sunlight instead of bursting into flames.
I don't think the Hunger Games is turning into Twilight because Twilight is missing the plot and deapth for it, but it is becoming strikingly similar.
But I think it's about how the fãs play it. Have you seen the picks? We've got a million "Who should Katniss be with?" picks, which is the same as "who should Bella be with?" So yes, the Hunger games and Twilight fandoms are sort-of mixing up which is weird and probably not a good thing. I think, in all du respect, that there is much mais to the Hunger Games than just the Peeta/Katniss/Gale amor triângulo -like freedom, fighting for what you believe in, justice, showing your true colors- and that sometimes, some fãs (not pointing fingers) lose that and concentrate on the triangle.
I think it's inevitable that the same thing is going to happen to the Hunger Games to be honest, and I've always been opposed to this 'team' business. Having teams like Twilight does takes away the importance of the rest of the plot... In Twilight there is hardly anything else to it but whether or not she is going to decide Jacob or Edward, which isn't the case for The Hunger Games, there is so so much mais to it. I know Suzanne Collins is really against the whole team business. When the films come out, it will become a lot mais popular and become a huuuge franchise, Lionsgate are hoping for it to be the seguinte Twilight, I hope they don't tone down the brutal themes to attract mais 10 ano old fã girls, but they probably will.
Me and my friend had a disscusstion on Team Peeta or Gale, compared them to Teams Edward and Jacob, then decided we were Team Draco. (From Harry Potter) And I don't think its really doing anything, and really, what can it hurt?
Sorry for late answer, but I found this pergunta interesting.
I think yes for both questions. I think the whole love-triangle thing shouldn't have been added in the books. It some-what ruins it. And I also think it's making The Hunger Games mais popular, since there are some fãs that are just fãs for Peeta or Gale, and not the actual story.
I don't see how having teams is making it like Twilight. Every movie/book/tv show where we have a amor triângulo has teams like that, it's not exclusive to Twilight. Moreover, there where teams before Twilight existed.
It's not necessarily making the Hunger Games mais popular, I don't really see how it could...
