i was actually just questioning that a few days ago. i came to the conclusion that we will never know for a fact but he technically is dead. because Snow killed off Peeta's prep team and I doubt he would treat Cinna any differently. And it also is mentioned in Mockingjay (not word-for-word) that Cinna knew he was going to die after what he did to Katniss' wedding dress. He made preparations with another mockingjay suit and everything. It is very possible that he could be an Annox, but in my opinion Suzanne Collins wants us to interpret his death, though left it up for discussion on purpose.
PS-I'm not possible if I'm correct about this because all the books are basically combining in my head, but considering how each victor gets punished por havingn to do something or like "witness" one of their loved ones get killed, Peeta's prep team was killed because they were associated with the hunger games. snow just waited until katniss was going into the arena to keep her shocked and an easy target. so in my mind, he is sadly dead.

Yeah,Katniss really never saw him die as far as I know.But she saw the people soco him and stuff like that.
Yes, it was made pretty clear that he was beaten to death. At least it was to me. If he were alive, Katniss would have found out and tried to get him back. He even left a sketchbook. People who say "no" or "it's up in the air" are in denial. It couldn't be mais obvious he's dead. He's even listed as deceased on the THG wikia. The wikia also says that Plutarch informed Katniss Cinna was killed during interrogation. So, yeah, he's dead.
For a book series that has death as one of the main themes, and regularly makes children kill each other for entertainment, it surprises me how a lot of fãs don't seem to be able to accept that beloved characters are dead and aren't coming back through a loophole or a "clever" plot twist. =/
It's only assumed that he died, he was taken away por the Capitol, and probably tortured for information. If he didn't give away any info about the rebellion (and I don't think he did), then he was most likely killed. Katniss never saw him again.
Yes becasue just before Katniss goes into the segundo arena, they drag him off. And if he was still alive he would have been in District 13 helping them fight the Capitol. It also mentions that all the stylists were killed.
He did. The capital killed him during the segundo hunger games because he burned her wedding dress to make her look like a mocking jay, which is the symbol of rebellion. So they kill him. And tourue the prep crew. But district 13 saves the prep crew and brings back a dress that Cinna designed in hopes that Katniss will be the symbol of rebellion.

In catching fire, yes cinna is beaten to a pulp just segundos before katniss is set off to the arena(witch I think is just president snow saying ' Haha I killed your style list and I could do the same thing to you'). But there is no real notification in Mockingjay that he's dead. He did leave a sketchbook of rebelling outfits for katniss to wear as she becomes the Mockingjay( Rebelion leader).
Um, I'm pretty sure he did. If he wasn't dead, wouldn't Katniss do anything in order to get him back. I mean really, he was one of the only people she liked and thats saying a lot. Katniis even said that she liked him the best?
Well, he made a dress for her that repainted as a mocking jay. So the peace keepers come kill him when Katniss goes up to the arena. so, ya that's how he dies. Read the book and see the movie. They are both great.
Cinna gets beat up from 2 of the capitol guards, and does survive, but i cant wait to see the movie!! I felt sad when i saw it in the movie, "Catching Fire", but it was great!
Yes he does. He get's beat up por capitol guards when Katniss was in the tube. I saw the movie the dia it came out (November 22) which was my b-day. But I cried when I watched it. I loved Cinna but now he's dead..>->
SPOILER ALERT: No, he was killed. At the end of Mockingjay, they rescue everyone they didn't the first time because they had taken over Panem. You are let known this because they save Effie, who in the book was suppose to be captured, but is released at the end and escorts Katniss to the execution of "Snow".
He doesn't die in Catching Fire. He's only severely beaten and taken prisoner. However, he later dies during interrogation. This is revealed near the start of the Mockingjay book. The rebels considered trying to rescue him but he'd died before they could.
