Gwen's pov!

"Get back here, you little punk!" The angry beast of a jock screamed from behind me. I jumped over rocks and pushed branches full of leaves out of my way as I ran as if my life had depended on it. "Got you!" The jock's stoner friend who always wore that same ragged green beanie grabbed me por my arm and grinned at me with his yellow rotting teeth. If his jock friend doesn't hurry, this guy's rank breath will kill me. "Hold on!" The jock bent over slightly a few feet away from his friend to catch his breath. I began to panic and I tried to hide it from the junkie who had a pocket faca sticking up out of his pocket. I looked up and saw that a beautiful aranha web was hanging from three branches with a aranha sitting peacefully in the middle of it. I reached up for it, knowing that it was beanie guy's worst fear, I placed it on his shoulder and sat back to watch the fireworks. He shrieked like a little girl and body slammed his friend onto the dirt and gravel. I silently cheered before running off to safety once again. "You'll pay for that, you gótico werido!" The beanie guy called out from behind the tangles of trees and bushes. As I was heading towards my normal escape area, I slipped and slid across the dirt to stop my cheetah like running. I looked over the hanging dirt cliff and looked below it, seeing that the rock bridge I had created was gone and if I even tried to place my foot down there I would be attacked my highly venomous snakes. I could hear the jerk duo getting close and I knew I had to find another escape route. I jumped behind a tall, thick árvore right before they could see me. "Where did she go?" I could see the beanie guy stupidly scratching his head. "I don't know, Josh! We need to find her!" What sounds like the jock slapping his friend in the back of his head filled my ears. I giggled silently before slowly crawling through the bushes to my new escape route. I suddenly sat my knee down onto the earth below me and that's when I heard a twig snap. I gasped so loud, I heard my voice echo throughout the forest. I quickly slapped my hand against my mouth and crouched down as low as I could in the bushes. "I heard something over there, John!" Josh called out to his friend. "Hey, I can see her! Over there, in the bushes! Get her!" John screamed at the topo, início of his lungs. I pushed my head up out of the bushes and saw Josh running towards me. I stumbled out of the arbusto, bush and began hauling bunda once again. I tripped over a árvore root sticking up out of the ground and slid across the dirt. I rolled over on my back and looked around for them, but they weren't in sight. I then looked for another possible exit, but it was a dead end. "Found you." John picked me up por the colarinho, colar of my shirt. "We're going to make you pay, you little shit!" Josh barked in my face. "We knew that you took the path to snake river to get free of us, so we asked our dads, who are in the constructive business, to mover the rocks that you placed there so we would finally catch you and destroy you." John hissed with a devilish laugh. "Fine, whatever. You got me. Do your worst." I sighed of defeat. "Oh, hell no.." Josh began to slowly back away with his eyes widened and his jaw hanging. "Dude, what's your problem?" John looked at him with the face of death. "Look.." He pointed up near the trees. "No fucking way. I'm out of here. She can die and rot here while I'm seguro away from this place." John threw me back down onto the dirt and took of running with Josh in the opposite direction. I got up and dusted my clothes of dirt before looking in the direction Josh was pointing to see what had scared them both so much. I squinted my eyes to make out the words on the rotting wood sign and it read, 'Houdini's Fun Time Circus.' with a big creepy smiling clown face seguinte to it. I slowly walked towards the sign and soon was behind it. I looked back once before continuing my exploring through the 'scary' circus. There were broken and rusted metal animal cages everywhere. There were even bones and skulls lying around them. I walked up to the little ticket shack and looked inside of it. There were empty pipoca buckets scattered about on the floor, those cheap little admit one tickets somehow rolled up neatly on the shelf, and cobwebs hanging like curtains from the ceiling. The window that I was looking through was cracked and had a slightly shredded sticker on it with words in bold letters, 'Closed.' I turned my attention towards the huge ripped red and white striped tent. I saw that the tent was open and inside was dark and full of terrifying things to be discovered. Wait, did I say terrifying? I'm not a snot nosed little punk! I backed up into a little carrinho and accidentally pressed a button. "I hope you have fun at Houdini's Fun Time Circus!" A clown popped out of a large box beside the cart. I shrieked and picked up one of the animal cage bars and whacked it across the face. It turned into a broken record and said that same creepy line over and over. Lined up on both sides leading toward the tent were other smaller tents with little cheesy circus games inside. It was kind of like those games you see at horrible cheap carnivals. I saw those creepy little stuffed animais you win from the games hanging from strings or all over the ground just staring at me with their beady little eyes. I shook it off and headed towards the big striped tent. There were stained and slightly torn posters on the tent with words saying, "Feist your eyes on the amazing trapezist, Trent Jackson!' 'The main circus attraction, Trent Jackson!' 'You don't want to miss this incredible trapeze show!' "This Trent guy must be really famous.." I mumbled to myself before walking into the tent. I pushed the tent flap open mais so some of the sunlight could light up the dark tent. Wooden seats were in bleacher form around the entire tent. There were hoops and wooden boxes in the middle of the tent with stars and smiley faces on them. What really caught my eye was the rats scurrying around the piles of bones that were hiding behind the little pipoca machines. The sound of something or someone stomping on the wooden seats came from behind me and I turned around and nothing was there. I saw a black cape whip around the seats before it disappeared. "Hello?" I began walking towards the seats before stopping in my tracks when I heard what sounded like a dog growling. "Please don't be afraid.. I won't hurt you." I cooed softly before inching a little closer to the seats. The growling got louder and it soon stopped and a quiet whimper came from under the seats. I got down on my knees and looked under the seats to find dirt coated feet sticking out from the black cape I had seen. "Excuse me-." I pulled at the black cape and the thing lunged at me. I screamed and opened my tightly closed eyes and was now staring into the face of a man. A man who had dark gray bags under his green eyes, a great amount of facial and head hair, and mud stained rags for clothes. He got off of me and backed away from me in fear. "It's going to be okay. I won't hurt you-." I reached out to touch his arm, but he sliced at it with his long pointy fingernails before headed to hide under the seats on the other side of the tent. "I just want to help." I spoke with a little impatience in my voice. "Who are you?" He spoke in a very raspy voice. "My name is Gwen Parker. I stumbled upon your, um.. circus as I was running away from a couple of bullies." I tried to sound nice again so he would come out from under the seats. "It isn't my circus." He made a deadly hiss. "Oh, uh.. okay. What's your name?" I questioned. "Trent Jackson." He mumbled from under his breath. "The trapezist? Why aren't you and your, um, circus friends performing anymore? Why is it all ran down?" I asked softly. "That is none of your business!" He came out from under the seats and screamed in my face. "Calm your shit, dude. I was just asking." I growled, but I quickly stopped with my bad attitude to get him to talk. "You need to leave me here. Alone." He sat on the creaky wooden seat. "Are you crazy? You can't live under these horrible conditions! Look at you. You're covered in mud and you wear rags for clothes!" I finally snapped at him. "Maybe I want to live like this." He crossed his arms. "How do you get food?" I questioned, hands on my hips. He pointed over at the garbage cans that had hundreds of flies swarming around the horrid stench melting off of the rotting food. I covered my mouth to prevent myself from vomiting. "I believe that these conditions are fine for any human being to live under and that's final!" He shouted. "Can you please just come with me? I really don't want you to be here all alone." I placed my hand upon his shoulder. "I've been here all alone for almost two years now and the only company I've ever gotten is the fucking rats and flies, so I'm pretty sure I'm used to it por now." He hissed. "Please?" I sat beside him and held his dirt covered hand. "I can't." He yanked his hand out of my grasp. "Why not?" I got up and stood in front of him. "Because.." He mumbled with a growl. "Why not? Look me in the eye and tell me why can't you leave this rotting place." I grabbed his chin and he finally looked at me, but somewhat startled. "I'm not ready to go back to civilization yet. I just don't think I can adjust to that lifestyle again." He sighed, got up, and curled up under the seats. "I can help you." I sat down in front of him with a gentle smile on my face. "Are you sure?" He whispered before I nodded. I finally got to see him have a somewhat of a smile on his face. "Where do you live?" He asked me as we were walking back through the forest to my place. "I live in a house." I answered. "Is it a big house?" He questioned. "It's an average sized house." I shrugged with a giggle. "Do you have a family?" He hesitated a little when he asked me that. "I have a mom, stepdad, and an annoying little brother." I became irritated at the thought that my brother might rato me out to our parents about me hiding Trent at the house. "Oh, that's cool.." He whispered. "What's wrong?" I stopped walking and turned to look at him. "It's.. uh, nothing. Lets keep going." He started walking again. "No, tell me whats up." I grabbed him por his shoulder to stop him from walking. "My parents basically left me on the doorstep of a man named Jason when I was only five months old. That man was the son of another man named Houdini who owned a circus. Houdini died about seven years atrás and left his circus to be taken care of por his son. My dad, Jason, let me work there as a cage cleaner since I was about 8. He went to visit his dad's grave one dia and died right on his grave. Doctor says it was because of depression." He stared at his feet, tears whelming up in his eyes. "That is terrible. I'm so sorry." I felt like breaking down as well. "Another guy named Tucker decided he was going to own the circus. I then became a professional trapezist at the circus. Soon Tucker stopped caring and.. never mind." He covered his eyes and began walking once more. "What happened after that?" I whispered through the wind. "I don't want to tell. Can we please just get to your place.. I'm exhausted." He sniffed. "Alright." I mumbled and continued to lead the way. The rest of the walk towards my house was silent. Occasionally he would wipe his eyes of tears and sniffle silently. I just felt so bad for him. At least I can give him a temporary home. "So, this is where you live?" He looked up at my house. "Yes, I'll be right back. Stay here." I whispered before walking silently into the house. I looked at the clock and it read, '12:00 am.' Shit, I almost forgot that I had school tomorrow. I hurriedly walked upstairs and into my room. I opened my window and called out for Trent below. "How am I going to get up there?" He whispered. "Climb up my mother's tall vines on the side of the house." I pointed at his way to get up to my window. He slowly and carefully climbed up the vines and was soon on the floor in my room. "Neat." He looked around my room like a small child before walking over to my bed. "Wait, before you sit anywhere in my room, you need to take a shower." I shoved him towards the door to the bathroom in my room. "But-." He couldn't say anything else because I had shut him inside the bathroom. "You can use my soap." I called to him. "It's all girly smelling though.." He mumbled. "It's better than the stench you're wearing." I giggled. "Sweetheart, what are you doing up so late?" My mom came into my room, robe, veste, roupão and slippers on. "Oh, mom.. hey. I, uh, was just starting up a shower." I stumbled for words. "Okay, that's fine. Please hurry. Remember, you have school tomorrow." She smiled before leaving my room. "Thanks for the reminder, mom." I mumbled under my breath before plopping onto my bed. "Gwen, I don't have any clean clothes to change it to.." Trent peeked out from the ajar bathroom door with his cheeks a bright red. "Hold on, I'll find you something." I ran off to my brothers room and found clothes he very rarely ever wears. "Here." I handed clean clothes to a blushing Trent. He came out of the bathroom fully dressed and sat on my bed. "Don't you feel better now?" I sat beside him. "I smell like a girl." He said for the segundo time. "You smell better than you did fifteen minutos ago." I giggled. "Where do I sleep?" He questioned. "Uh.." I didn't exactly plan that one. "Well, Trent.. you're going to have to sleep in my closet so my family won't see you." I mumbled, kind of feeling guilty. "It's fine, I understand." He smiled. I set him up a little cama in my closet and he tucked himself right in. "This is so much better than sleeping under the wooden seats." He snuggled into his blanket. "I'm glad. Well, goodnight." I whispered, smiling. "Goodnight." He smiled back. I shut the closet door before slipping under my sheets and going to sleep.

...

"Gwen, get ready for school!" My brother slammed the door open. "Who the fuck told you to be my alarm clock this morning?" I slowly sat up on my cama and glared at him before I rubbed my exhausted eyes. "I did. I took your clock to be my alarm in the morning so you wouldn't have to wake me up." He chuckled. "I didn't say you could borrow it." I hissed. "Big deal. I thought you were staying at one of your friend's house or you actually got yourself a boyfriend and was out to get some." He rolled his eyes before running off laughing. My face roared with a deep red blush, hoping Trent didn't hear that. I shut my door and slid down it slowly onto the floor. "You're so nice to your little brother." Trent opened the closet door with a small chuckle. "I try." I mumbled, still slightly embarrassed at my brother's comment. "So you have to go to school?" He got out of his little cama in the closet and shut the door. "Yeah. It sucks." I groaned at the thought of listening to boring teachers all day. "Can I come?" He asked with hope in his eyes. "You can, but you still look like you've been locked up for some time." I giggled with my hand over my mouth. "What do you mean?" He questioned, scratching his head. I softly pushed him in front of my mirror to remind him that he had extremely long facial and head hair. Oh, and how could I forget his razor sharp fingernails. "Oh, yeah.." He mumbled. "I actually can cut your hair to your liking if you'd like." I suggested, getting out a pair of scissors and nail clippers from my nightstand. "Sounds cool." He smiled. I sat him down in a computer chair in front of my mirror before I began to trim back his hair to make him look at least normal again. I ran into the bathroom in the hall and got a razor to cut off his massive amount of facial hair. I grabbed the nail clippers that were sitting seguinte to the mountain of hair and took at least fifteen minutos to cut back his sharp piranha teeth like fingernails. "I look great." He rubbed his chin and smoothened his jelled hair back. "Here's my spare backpack with a little bit of school supplies in there. You're going to need it. Let me go see if the coast is clear for us to leave." I handed him the backpack before walking around the house to make sure everyone was gone. I motioned him outside from the window that he could start heading down. "So, what is your school like?" He questioned. "It's okay, I guess. The teachers are kind of boring, but don't give out a lot of work. Some students there can be nice, and some can be total dicks." I explained to him. "Well, if it isn't the punk who got away." John chuckled from behind me. "What do you want?" I turned around to face the total chicken shit who tried to sound tough. "I'm surprised you're still alive after that trip to the freak circus. Now I guess this is a good excuse to kill you." John cracked his knuckles before walking towards me with a grin of death on his face. I sighed before closing my eyes tight, waiting for the worst. "Back off." I opened my eyes to see Trent shoving John. "Get out of my way, buddy." John sneered. "Don't you dare come near her again. If you do, I'll plow your head into a fucking brick wall, you got that?" Trent pushed him again slightly. "Gwen's little boyfriend is sticking up for her. How cute." John rolled his eyes before walking into the school with the other jocks. "Wow.. that was really cool of you." I felt kind of touched that Trent stood up for me. "No problem. It is the least I can do since you provided me a comfortable cama to sleep in at night." The sun caused his smile to glow mais than it already was. "Welcome to New Hampstead High School, Trent Jackson." The principal shook his hand after we had gotten him registered to learn at this school. ".. And this is your locker. You can access is anytime you want between classes." I had ended the 'grand tour' around the school with showing him his locker. "Cool." He opened his locker and placed his books inside. "Hey, Gwen. Whoa, who's the new guy? Is he your boyfriend?" Bridgette nudged my shoulder, chuckling. "Shut up. He's not my boyfriend, he's my friend." I crossed my arms. "That is what they all say. What's up, new guy?" Bridgette greeted him. "Not much." Trent responded blankly. "His name is Trent, thanks for asking." I got the books I needed out of my locker before closing it shut. "Jeez, girl gets a boyfriend and acts all pushy the seguinte day. Well, I'll see you two lovebirds later. I gotta go catch up with Geoff" Bridgette winked at me before running off to her blonde boyfriend wearing a cowboy hat with a skateboard tucked under his arm. "Do we have all of our classes together?" Trent asked me, not even bothered por the fact that Bridgette was teasing the both of us. "Let me see.." I trailed off before grabbing his schedule and comparing it to mine. "Gwen, my man. What's up?" A guy with a bright green mohawk came riding through the school doors with a skateboard. He whacked me in the back of my head before wrapping his arm around me. "I thought I told you to change the way you greet me." I mumbled, rubbing the back of my head. I looked at Trent who was clearly not to happy that Duncan had greeted me so unkindly. "You know, I thought about it, but I was too lazy to come up with a better way to greet you. Oh, you must be the new guy around here." He rustled my hair with his fist before turning his attention to Trent. "Yep." Trent mumbled. "Aw, are you and Gwen dating? I didn't mean to touch your precious girlfriend." Duncan tried joking with him to make him laugh, but that didn't work. "No, we're just friends." He threw his backpack around his shoulder. "Friend zoned, Gwen! Friend zoned!" Duncan bent over with his hands on his knees, crying laughing. "Lets just go, Trent." I mumbled before leaving a broken Duncan laughing on the floor. "Good afternoon students. I will call out the room numbers for who will have first lunch today. 1314, 1300.." The principal said in a boring, yet fake cheerful tone over the intercom. "Okay, students. Log off from your computers and pack up your things. Those who go to those classes who were called over the intercom will go to lunch. Those who go to different classes that weren't called over the intercom will continue with their regular schedule." Mr. Hoyman, the computer teacher, pushed up his glasses on his nose. "So, we go to lunch now?" Trent asked me as we were heading down the stairs to the first floor. "Yep. If we somehow get separated in the sea of sweaty high school students, head for the cafeteria down the main hall and when you enter the cafeteria, go for the mesa, tabela in the back. That's where I'll be sitting." I explained as we were both staring at the thousands of students pouring out of the classrooms. I zoomed through the sea of students with no problem at all, but I lost Trent halfway through the obstacle course. I walked into the cafeteria and sat at the mesa, tabela in the back, away from all of the drama starters. "Hey, Gwen." Courtney sat her tray of comida down on the mesa, tabela before giving me a hug. "Hey, Court. What's up?" I got out my sketchbook to draw whatever. "The usual. Getting the best grades in the whole class and Duncan continuing to do stupid shit and get caught por the police." She sighed as she scrolled through messages on her cellphone. "Sounds like him." I giggled and somehow got into sketching the terror filled circus I visited the other day. "Hey, guys- holy crap, Gwen. How could you even, I mean.. how do you even know the details about that place? Did you visit the circus the other dia or something?" Bridgette grabbed my sketchbook before sitting down beside me. "I was trying to not get my bunda chewed off por John and Josh again." I blew a strand of hair out of my face. "I thought your normal escape route was the path to snake river." Courtney took the sketchbook from Bridgette's hands and looked at it skeptically. "It was before they asked their dads to mover the rocks I placed there as a bridge with their constructive machines." I snatched the sketchbook out of her hands with a glare. "So your solution was to go to that place? That place has been abandoned for like almost three years!" Courtney raised her hands in the air. "It wasn't exactly my solution, Courtney. I had no where else to turn. Besides, I got something good out of visiting the circus." I tried to hide my smile as I thought of Trent. "Yeah, I know. Staying alive." Bridgette said sarcastically. "No, I mean-." I cut myself off when I saw Trent walking towards the table. "Sorry it took me so long to get here. I kind of got lost." He sat down across from me. "It's okay. Courtney, this is Trent." I generously introduced him to her. "Hello, Trent. You must be new here." Courtney shook his hand with a smile. "Yeah, I am-." He cut himself off when his eyes wandered over to my drawing. "Trent, I.. I didn't mean to. It just came to me." I apologized, feeling tears starting to burn in my eyes. "No, it's okay. That's a good drawing, though." He offered a slight smile when he looked up from my sketchbook that was in his hands. "Gwen, I remember you saying you had gotten something good out of visiting the abandoned circus. What exactly was it?" Courtney crossed her arms and raised an eyebrow. "I, uh.." I trailed off, my cheeks burning red. "Come on, tell us." Bridgette pulled on my sleeve eagerly. I looked up at Trent who was looking down at the mesa, tabela with his cheeks red too. "Yeah, it actually was just staying alive." I laughed nervously, hoping they wouldn't catch on to it. "Well, I'm glad you're alive." Bridgette smiled, patting my shoulder. I took a glance at Trent and his facial expression looked a little mais upset than embarrassed. The sino rang and all of the students began shoving their way out of the cafeteria door. "I'll see you guys after school." Courtney waved before grabbing her backpack off of the floor and leaving for her seguinte class. "Yeah, same here. Later guys." Bridgette caught up with Courtney to talk with her. "Ready to go, Trent?" I asked as I was placing my sketchbook in my backpack. "Yeah, lets go." He said in a very soft, saddened tone. "Is something wrong?" I pulled on the strap of his backpack around his shoulder. "No, I'm fine. Lets just get to science." He made up a fake smile just to stop me from questioning him. "Today students, you will be working in groups and look at pond water in petri dishes using a microscope to find as many cells and bacteria as possible. Write down all of the possible things you can find. This assignment is due at the end of class." Mrs. Whitlock explained before sitting down at her escrivaninha, mesa in front of her laptop. I placed the small plastic petri dish under the microscope and began to study the things that were floating around in the water. I looked up at Trent who had his cheek in the palm of his hand and in the other hand a pencil just slowly moving back and forth on the table. "Are you okay?" I tapped his shoulder. "I already told you I'm fine." He mumbled into the palm of his hand and continued to scratch pointless lines with his pencil onto the table. "Excuse me, Gwen. I don't see your partner working with you." Mrs. Whitlock walked up to our desks, hands on her hips, face twisted in an ugly scowl. "I'm sorry, Miss. It's not her fault. I won't slack off again." Trent quickly apologized. "That is quite alright, Mr. Jackson. Carry on working, please." She smiled before walking back to her desk. "Ow." I heard him say. I looked up from the microscope once mais and he was rubbing his head. I saw that on the ground was a balled up piece of paper and a few desks back were a couple of laughing and pointing jocks. "Those guys are just jerks. Don't let them get to you." I patted his shoulder. School was finally over and the four of us met up outside. "Hey, guys. Great news! Duncan is throwing a Dia das bruxas party this year! You guys wanna come?" Bridgette came running up to me with a flyer for the party. "I don't know.." I mumbled as I stared awkwardly at the piece of paper. "Oh, come on! It'll be fun! You and Trent could go as a couple, if you know what I mean." She nudged me with a grin. I looked at Trent who was staring at his feet and his facial expression still read upset. "I'll go if you go." Courtney encouraged me. "I'll think about it. I gotta go. See you guys later." I waved at them before heading off with Trent. "So, um.. you wanna go to this lame party?" I asked him and he responded with a shrug. Another boring silent walk to início was finally over. I made sure the coast was clear and went upstairs to let Trent in. He took his chuveiro first and then I proceeded to take mine. Silence was still filling the air and I had to do something about it. I came out of the bathroom with my pajamas on and didn't find Trent sitting on my cama waiting to be tucked in. I opened the closet door and found him curled up under his sheets with his back facing me. "Trent?" I softly shook his shoulder. "What?" He whispered so silently I barely heard him. "I know you're upset, quit trying to deny it. Can you please just tell me what's wrong?" I lowered myself so that I was whispering into his ear. He untangled himself from his sheets and walked over to sit on my bed. "You said that-." He cut himself off so he could wipe away his tears. "What?" I whispered before gently grabbing his hand. "You said that the only good thing that happened to you when you visited the abandoned circus was staying alive and.." Tears began to fall from his eyes. "Oh my gosh, no. I was just saying that so I could cover up your story." I pulled him into a tight hug. "Well, then.. what was it?" He sniffled with his eyes set upon his feet. "Saving you from that horrible place." I cupped his tear coated cheek into my hand so I could look him in the eyes. His lips curved into a smile and I couldn't help but smile myself. He placed his warm hand over my hand that was cupping his cheek and the glow in his smile grew even more. "Ha, I knew you had a boyfriend!" My brother suddenly barged into my room. "What? No, you don't understand. He's not my boyfriend!" I whisper-yelled. "Then why are you guys holding each other like that?" He smirked. I noticed my position and pulled away from the soothing embrace with my cheeks completely red. "Shut up, Kyle." I mumbled from under my breath. "You're lucky mom and dad aren't hope or I would rato out your bunda so hard.." He began to laugh uncontrollably. "Please don't tell them. Let him stay here for tonight." I begged him. "I don't know." Kyle rubbed his chin. "I'll let you keep my alarm clock." I suggested. "Fine, whatever, but I swear to god if I hear moaning in the middle of the night while I'm trying to sleep, I'll tell on you." He warned before walking off behind a shut door. "I guess I'll be getting to cama now." Trent got up from my cama and walked over to curl up on his. "Goodnight." He smiled. I walked over to him and got down on my knees in front of him. "Goodnight." I bent down and kissed his cheek. I watched his face turn into the color of red under the dim moonlight. I giggled before I went to go lie down on my bed. He waved and slowly shut the closet door. I giggled once mais before I drifted off into a nice deep sleep.

Prison gates won't open up for me
On these hands and knees I'm crawlin'
Oh, I reach for you

Well, I'm terrified of these four walls
These iron bars can't hold my soul in
All I need is you
Come please I'm callin'
And oh I scream for you
Hurry I'm fallin'

Another day, another, oh what's the point? I literally woke up five minutos before my bunda of a brother barged into my room to only shout in my ear to make my morning even worse. "That wasn't necessary!" I slapped him across his face before rolling over on my stomach and slamming my travesseiro on the back of my head. "Its not my fault that someone brought their boyfriend in to sleep with them and have to pay up unless they want their parents finding out and then literally wanting to kill you." Kyle laughed and dodged my thrown travesseiro before walking out of my room. I went over to Trent's sleeping place and gently nudged him in the side with my foot. "Get up." I grumbled and walked into the bathroom like a zombie to take a shower. "Looks like someone had a great night's sleep." Trent, who was sitting on my bed, was chuckling with his hand over his mouth. "I absolutely hate waking up a couple of minutos before I'm supposed to wake up and what I hate even mais is being woken up por my brother." I threw my sketchbook into my backpack in anger before sitting down beside him. "Man, I hate this retarded school schedule. Why can't you guys just go to school like once or twice a week?" Trent asked me as we head down the steps towards the door. "You know, I'd jump up and hug you if I had the energy, but a simple thank you for your common sense is good enough I suppose." I giggled and threw one strap of my backpack around my shoulder. "Thanks." He chuckled. "Gwen, is that you dear?" I heard my mother call down from the kitchen. "Oh no. Hide." I whisper-yelled and shoved him into the closet in the hallway. "Good morning, sweetheart. Did you sleep well?" She walked up to me in her robe, veste, roupão and slippers with her hair still a mess. "Uh, yeah, I did. I need to get to school now, so I'll see you later." I tried to end the conversation quickly so she would leave. "Oh, okay. Just let me get the vassoura and dustpan out of the closet-." I cut her off and jumped in front of the closet door. "No, no. You go make yourself some breakfast and I'll bring you the broom." I slowly pushed her towards the kitchen. "Why, thank you, dear." She smiled and walked off. "Suckers." Kyle laughed his way out the door. I opened the closet door and found Trent excessively itching his right arm. He looked up at me with a startled expression and fell back into the mop bucket. "What's wrong with you?" I pulled him up out of the bucket. "Gwen, is everything alright?" My mother called out with worry in her voice. "Yeah, mom. Just dropped the vassoura is all." I answered back to her as I quickly pushed Trent towards the door and out before my mom saw. "You're been atuação kind of strange today, dear. Are you sure you're okay?" My mom came up to me and put her hand on my shoulder. "I just got a little cold is all. I gotta go before I'm late. Bye." I slipped out the front door and caught up with Trent. "That was close." Trent said as we entered the school. "Too close, actually. We need to be mais careful seguinte time." I warned him as I got books out of my locker. "Where do we go first again?" He questioned. "We go to gym- fuck, I forgot my clothes. Dammit. Oh, well. I'll live. Lets go." I stuffed my backpack in my locker and began heading towards the gym with Trent. "Just go change into your gym clothes in the locker room. I'll be out here on the bleachers waiting." I showed him the male locker room before I walked over to sit down on the metal bleachers. "Well, well. Looks like Gwen forgot her clothes again. You know you're not going to pass this class with you continuing to fail to dress out." Mr. McLean shook his head as he scribbled something down on his clipboard. "Whatever." I scoffed. "Uh, Gwen?" Bridgette came up to me and tapped on my shoulder. "Yeah, I know. I didn't dress out. Big fucking deal." I rolled my eyes. "No, I mean some of the guys said that Trent is itching himself as if he were a dog in the locker room." She explained. "I noticed he started doing that this morning. I don't know what his deal is." I shrugged. "Okay then. Be sure to get your boyfriend under control." She laughed before quickly walking off to do her laps around the gym. "Chef, you deal with these kids so I can go get a tan." Mr. McLean put on a pair of sunglasses and grabbed a magazine and heading out the gym doors. "Shouldn't you be in the cafeteria cooking our food?" Owen ran up to Chef with tears in his eyes. "I precooked you ungrateful maggots' comida last night." He clenched his fists and glared at him. "B-But.. that means it's cold-." Chef cut him off. "Get to doing your laps around the gym!" He shouted and Owen took off screaming around the gym. "Ms. Parker?" Chef walked up to me with a smile and a bullhorn in his hand. "Yes?" I answered with an equal amount of fake kindness. "Do you think you should be doing your laps around the gym like everyone else?" He spoke threw his tightly shut teeth with a smile still on his face. "Probably." I shrugged. "Then get to it!" He sounded the bullhorn in my ear and I covered my ears before joining the rest of the class. "Hey, what's with you and your scratching problem?" I ran up beside Trent. "Uh, I don't know. Must be some sort of a rash." He laughed nervously. "No talking!" Chef rang the bullhorn in our ears. After being sweaty and running around the gym for an hour, it was finally time to go on with the rest of the day. Trent was still scratching and surprisingly enough he hasn't started bleeding yet. "Today we will have a pre-test. It will not affect your grades, I just want to see what you know." Mr. Shehane, our math teacher, passed out the tests to every student in the room. I stared at the test with no clue of how to figure any of the problems out. I buried my head into the palm of my hand and tapped my head nervously. I looked over at Trent and saw that his fingernails were roughly scratching the topo, início of his desk, leaving behind noticeable marks. "What's wrong?" I tapped his arm which was red from all the scratching he had done. "Just because this is a pre-test, doesn't mean you can talk. Now be quiet." Mr. Shehane slammed a ruler on his escrivaninha, mesa and went back to grading papers. Trent screamed and fell out of his chair onto the floor before viciously scratching all over himself. The class turned their attention away from the test to the guy who was literally rolling all over the floors itching and groaning. They all soon roared with laughter and pointing. "Mr. Jackson, Mr. Jackson! Stop with this foolishness at once!" Mr. Shehane got down onto the floor and shook Trent's shoulder. "I need to go to the nurse." He mumbled as his face was lying flat on the tiled floor. "Fine, write a pass." Mr. Shehane instructed. Trent looked at John who was sitting his chair mimicking his itching problem. Trent's eyes fell upon the floor as he walked out of the classroom with his pass for the nurse. "I need to go to the nurse as well." I shot up from my chair. "For whatever reason?" Mr. Shehane looked at me suspiciously. "She needs to go see if her boyfriend is okay." John made beijar noises and the class started up with laughter again. "I have the flu. I'll be right back." I mumbled and quickly ran out of the room to find Trent. I walked into the nurse's office and found Trent sitting on one of those hospital beds as he was being examined por the nurse. "Hello, Ms. Parker. What brings you here?" Mrs. Albert spun around to me in her chair and smiled at me. "I, um.. Mr. Shehane wanted me to walk him back to class after he was done with his visit to make sure he'll be okay." I quickly made up an excuse. "Alright, then. Well, Trent, I cannot seem to find where this itching problem is coming from. Are you allergic to anything?" She shined a flashlight in his eye. "Not that I know of." He mumbled. "When's the last time your parents took you to the doctor?" She got out a clipboard and began composição literária stuff down. "It's been awhile.." Trent seemed a bit nervous when he answered that question. "Okay. Well, I'm going to give you this itching cream to help stop your excessive itching and hopefully you'll feel better." She handed him a plastic tube. "Thanks." He stuffed it in his pocket. "I'll need a parent or guardian to sign this waver to approve of you using this medication." She scribbled one last thing down on the paper attached to her clipboard before handing it to him. "Uh, yeah.. I'll get it signed as soon as possible." He looked down at the paper before quickly looking back up at her with an uneasy expression. "Have a nice dia you two." She waved to us before we left her office. We walked into the cafeteria and everyone turned to stare at us. A couple of the jocks fell on the floor and started itching and laughing like crazy. The entire cafeteria joined in with their laughing and a couple of others began to mimic Trent too. "What a freak!" One tossed an maçã, apple at Trent's head. "Lets go eat outside today." I suggested and we quickly headed out of the cafeteria and into the courtyard. "I know you don't feel like talking right now, but seriously, are you feeling okay? Is something wrong?" I couldn't hold back my perguntas of concern anymore and just started spilling them out of me left and right. "I don't know." His face fell into his hands. "I kinda know what you're going through." I sighed and rubbed his back gently. "What do you mean?" He sat upright and looked at me confused. "One time in the sixth grade I was so sick I puked a huge puddle that formed around my escrivaninha, mesa in science. The principal, not knowing where he was going, walked into the room and slipped face first into the vomit. He shrieked like a little girl and ran out of the room without a word. The students teased me for years until they finally forgotten about it." I rested my chin into my hand and let out another sigh. "That's some really harsh stuff." He patted my shoulder. "Tell me about it." I took a sip from the water bottle I had on my tray. "What was that all about, guys?" Duncan came running towards us with Courtney and Bridgette. "Trent had a little bit of an incident that happened in math." I answered for an embarrassed Trent. "Well, no shit. What's the matter with you, Trent?" Duncan asked in a demanding way. "Leave him alone, Duncan. Don't you think he's been through enough already?" Courtney shoved him. "Haven't you heard of anything called a rash, Duncan? God, you can be so gullible sometimes." Bridgette crossed her arms and darted her eyes at him. "Yeah, a rash.. that's what it is." Trent mumbled. The sino sounded to life across the courtyard and that was when we knew we all had to head off to our seguinte classes. "Well, I guess we'll see you two later. I hope you feel better soon, Trent." Courtney gave Trent a side hug before walking away with Duncan. "Yeah, what she said. Later guys." Bridgette took off in the opposite direction. We walked into science class and was so warmly greeted por the asshole jocks at the front table. "Well, if it isn't rash boy. Did you run off with your girlfriend so she could scratch the parts you didn't want anyone else to see?" John laughed and was high fived por another jock. "Shut up, John. Leave him alone." I sneered and sat down in my assento seguinte to Trent. "Was I even talking to you? Exactly, no. You better keep your mouth shut before vomit hurls out of your mouth and causes Mrs. Whitlock to have a concussion." John's laughter roared even louder. "That's enough. Today, we're going to take notes on the effects drugs has on your body." Mrs. Whitlock went over to her computer and pulled up a power point on the screen. Trent began to squirm in his chair and his facial expression became uneasy. "If you're starting to feel an itch come on again, just use the rash medication the nurse gave you." I whispered softly into his ear and he nodded. "Drugs are extremely bad. Don't just think I'm saying that just because the school board wants me to say it, take it from personal experience. Drugs can cause great harm to you and those around you." Mrs. Whitlock walked around the classroom to make sure everyone was taking notes. "They can cause you to look like you've aged greatly even though you're extremely young. Your teeth begin to turn yellow. Your breath begins to smell horrible. Oh, and drugs can also make you-." The sound of the sino cut her off. "Alright, class. We'll catch up with where we left off tomorrow. Have a nice day." Mrs. Whitlock sat back down in front of her computer. "Well, that was an unusual day." I chuckled before crawling under my covers. "Yeah, pretty crazy." He mumbled with his head rested upon his pillow, eyes focused on the ceiling in the closet. "I really hope your rash goes away." I smiled a weak smile at him. "Me too." He sighed. "Well, I'm gonna go to cama now. Goodnight, Trent." I smiled one last time at him before turning off the lamp beside my cama and going to sleep. I heard a door creak open and footsteps slowly make their way beside me. I opened my eyes and tried to stupidly find what was making that noise in the dark. I heard the window open and that's when I jolted myself up and turned on my lamp. I found Trent with half of his body outside my window with his eyes widened in shock. "What are you doing, man? Its almost midnight and we have school tomorrow." I slammed my head back down on my travesseiro in exhaustion. "I was, uh.. going to get some fresh air." He stammered. "You could've just opened the window and went back to cama instead of camping out on the roof." I felt bad for making him feel stupid, but its really late at night and I'm tired. "Sorry." He mumbled and climbed back through the window before going back to his little início in the closet. "It's fine. Goodnight." I turned over on my stomach and went back to sleep.

Show me what it's like
To be the last one standing
And teach me wrong from right
And I'll show you what I can be

And say it for me, say it to me
And I'll leave this life behind me
Say it if it's worth saving me

I was awoken to the blinding sunlight peeking through the crack of my closed curtains. I groaned before I slowly stumbled out of cama and opened the curtains to let the rest of the sunlight in. I took a great stretch and a yawn before looking over at my closed closet door. I smiled before quietly walking over and slowly opening the door to find a peacefully sleeping Trent snuggled up under his warm sheets and blankets. "Good morning, sunshine." I giggled, softly shaking his shoulder. "It's a Saturday, mom." He mumbled, eyes still closed with a smile spread across his face. "I know, but I was thinking we could go meet up with friends before we went to the Dia das bruxas party tonight." I went over and sat in front of my mirror to fix my messy cama hair. "You really want to go?" Trent hoisted himself up on his travesseiro with his hand and stared at me with a smirk. "I mean.. do you?" I stopped brushing my hair to look down at my feet with a blush. "Sounds like fun. Oh, and don't be embarrassed. It's only just you and me here to witness you actually wanting to socialize." He chuckled as he headed into the bathroom for a shower. "Whatever." I giggled slightly before I went back to brushing my hair. A couple of weeks have gone por and I decided to stop bugging Trent about the whole rash thing. The kids at school have also started to ease up on him, which is a good thing. He also hasn't tried to climb out the window like he did that one night. I'm still trying to figure out why he was atuação so weird that night. "So, where are you and Romeo headed off for today?" Kyle, who was still in his pajamas, asked as he scrolled through channels in the living room lied out across the couch. "Shut it. We're just meeting up with friends before going to a Dia das bruxas party tonight." I grabbed an maçã, apple and sat down at the cozinha table. "Ha, and to think you were gonna stay crammed up in your room your entire life. Anyways, what kind of a party is this?" He questioned, his eyes still glued on the televisão screen. "Were you even listening when I said it was a Dia das bruxas party? Oh, and I forgot to mention little pain in the asses like you aren't invited." I sneered, taking another bite of my apple. "I suppose you want to be grounded for life then." He turned off the televisão before sitting across from me at the table. "What do you mean?" I growled. "If you don't take me to the party, I guess mom and dad will find out about your little boyfriend camping out in your room." He laughed a devilish like laugh. "You little- hey, I gave you my alarm clock. Isn't that enough payment? And he's not my boyfriend." I slammed my fist on the table. "No, it's not. Besides, your dumb cat chewed up the wires and now the clock doesn't work, so you still owe me." He leaned back in his chair with his arms crossed, smirk on his face. "Fine, whatever. You can go. But so help me if you mention he's my boyfriend again, I'll throw you off the bridge seguinte to grandma's house, got it?" I hissed and he nodded in agreement. "So, are we ready to go?" Trent asked as he walked down the stairs. "Yeah, oh and my brother is tagging along if you don't mind." I mumbled, slightly annoyed. "It's cool." He shrugged. "Sweet. Now maybe finally I'll lose my virginity to some lucky girl at the party." He grinned before running off to his room. "Lucky? I'd say unfortunate." I rolled my eyes and heard slight laughter from Trent who was sitting beside me at the table. We found Bridgette and Courtney sitting on a bench seguinte to the patim, skate park chatting and laughing. "What's up guys? Who's this?" Bridgette greeted us warmly. "This is my annoying brother, Kyle." I spoke with such enthusiasm. "Nice to meet you." She shook his hand with a smile. "So, are you guys ready for the party tonight?" Duncan walked up, skateboard in hand, and wrapped his arm around Courtney. "I guess." I mumbled as I watched a lone leaf drag slowly along the road. "What's wrong, Gwen?" Courtney tapped my shoulder. "Nothing, it's just I've never been to a party before and I don't know what to do at parties, so.." I mumbled into the palm of my hand. "That's for sure." Kyle chuckled under his breath. I held my clenched fist in his face before burying my cheek into my hand again. "Don't worry, it'll be alright. This party is going to be awesome." Duncan reassured me with a grin. After killing many hours at the patim, skate park, it was finally time to head to the Dia das bruxas party. We walked up to a cornfield that had one large o espaço that was cleared in the middle to make room for the thousands of drunk teenagers dancing and atuação like total idiots. There were cars all around the circular area with a few of them with their headlights on to help light the party. Torches that had flickering flames on the topo, início of them were put in aleatório spots around the party. Haystacks and pumpkins were placed around the area to give it a little mais of a Dia das bruxas theme. There were tables full of Dia das bruxas themed food, which was obviously occupied por mostly Owen. Empty cerveja cans and bottles were scattered about. What everyone was mostly attracted to here was the huge bonfire psychopath Izzy created. Many people were sitting around the fogo on logs talking, drinking, and having a great time while I was sitting on a lone haystack that was outside the party area. I was about to give up and go início before Trent walked up to me with his smile that could cheer anyone up. "Hey, Gwen. Why aren't you-." I cut him off. "Not atuação like a normal teenager and partying? I don't know.. this whole thing was just a bad idea. I should've just stayed home." I sighed and picked at the feno that I was sitting on. "If you want to go home, it's fine with me. I just want you to be happy. I also just wanted to spend time with you." He stumbled upon that last sentence with a bright blush. "Really? That's so sweet." I placed my hand upon his cheek and smiled. I looked deeply into his green eyes and watched the beautiful stars twinkle in them. Now maybe we could pick up from where we left off that one night. He wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me close to him. I was Frozen - Uma Aventura Congelante por the October night breeze, but now I was surrounded por warmth and comfort. I placed my arms around him to give him an equal amount of warmth he was giving me. I snuggled into him and lied my head upon his chest. I was completely at ease and enjoying this wonderful embrace, when.. "Boo!" Duncan jumped out of the cornstalks from behind us with a running chainsaw in his hands and a red liquid dripping hockey mask on his face. I shrieked in fear and fell backwards off of Trent and onto the grass. "Haha, I got you Gwen!" He held up his hand for a high five as he continued to laugh. "You're such a jerk, Duncan!" I shouted in his face before storming off to find another quiet place to sit away from the party. I sat down on a large flat boulder and got out my sketchbook and decided to draw the leafless trees swaying around me. I heard a twig snap from behind me. "Duncan, I swear-." I threw down my sketchbook and got my fists ready to strike his face when I found out it was just Trent who was holding up his hands in defense. "Oh, hey." I sat back down on the boulder and pushed back my hair out of my face. "I got you a cupcake. Thought you'd might like it." He generously handed me a bolinho, queque that had bright laranja frosting and yellow sprinkles. "Uh, thanks." I offered a smile before sitting it beside me. "I'm sorry Duncan frightened you back there." He soothed, placing his hand upon my shoulder. "Its okay. Not your fault." I sighed and shaded in the beautiful moon in the background of the trees. "That's a nice drawing." He wrapped his arm around me. "Thanks." I blushed and held back my giggle as I continued to shade in the things I drew. "So, I, uh.. I was wondering if you, um.." He pulled away from me and rubbed the back of his neck with a blush spread across his face. "Yes, Trent?" I sat down my drawing to look at him completely. "I don't know.. maybe just the two of us, uh, hang out sometime?" He shuffled his feet in the dead leaves below him. "We're alone and hanging out right now, aren't we?" I pointed out with a smirk. "Oh, yeah." He laughed nervously at my stupid joke. "No, but seriously. Where are you going with this?" I scooted in closer to him and placed my hand upon his that was resting on the icy cold boulder. "Well, I-." He was cut off when Bridgette and Courtney walked up to us. "Gwen, I am so sorry Duncan acted like such a total dick earlier!" She pushed Trent off of the boulder to sit beside me. "Uh, it's cool." I looked at her with a slightly annoyed expression before looking at Trent who was staring at his feet with his cheeks fully red. "You guys should totally come hang with us at the party! Izzy is telling some pretty rad ghost stories por the fire!" Bridgette yanked at my hand. "Nah, I'm good-." She cut me off and pulled me up off of the boulder and began dragging me back to the party. "It'll be great!" She spoke with such cheerfulness in her voice. I looked back at Trent who was slowly following us and saw that he was still blushing and looked a little upset. Now I was starting to really feel bad for him. "On a night, a lot like this one, a happy couple was lying out under the stars at Blood Rock. What the couple didn't know was the meaning behind such a name of the place they were going to spend the night at. As they were fogging up the windows in the boyfriend's car, a tap was heard at the window. The girlfriend threw on her boyfriend's camisa and asked if he would check what was up. He pulled back on his pants before stepping out of his car and looking around to see what was disturbing them. He reassured her it was nothing, but then!" Izzy dramatically paused to build up the tension among the terrified drunk teens. "A machete popped out through his mouth and the boyfriend's blood splattered all over his girlfriend. The boyfriend fell to his death and revealed the man who had killed him. The man had hideous scars all over his face and had weapons of all kinds attached to his cinto, correia around his waist. Blood was splotched all over his body. He was even missing a hand and oh, how the smell of his wound was terrible! She tried to scream, but a bullet stopped her from doing so. The end." Izzy leaned back on a completely terrified Owen with a creepy grin. "Wow. That was a good story. Does the character have a name?" Duncan opened up another cerveja before chugging it down. "Hideous Harold." She shrugged. "Hey, that's not cool!" Harold fell out of the cornstalks and landed face first into the dirt. "Hey, look everyone! It's Doris!" Duncan pulled up Harold's underwear all the way up onto his head. "Ow!" Harold stood up and ran around the bonfire with his underwear on his head. I walked away from the overwhelming loud sound of laughter to go sit on a capuz, capa of a car. Trent's head popped up from the sea of drinking teens and a smile formed upon his face when his eyes met mine. "What did you think of Izzy's story?" He chuckled slightly. "It was actually not that bad. I like the name of the killer. Very unique." I laughed at the thought of Harold running around the bonfire as if he were a chicken that was missing a head. "So, as I was saying earlier.." He trailed off and turned his body to face mine. "Wait, before you say anything. Sorry to bring this up, but.. since we're alone, can you please tell me the reason why you were atuação so weird that one night?" I just had to ruin the somewhat romantic moment. Nice going, Gwen. "What are you talking about?" He laughed nervously as if nothing had happened. "I'm talking about you trying to climb out of my window to get fresh air, as you had said." I crossed my arms, becoming a little impatient for an answer. "It was just for getting fresh air, that's it." His eyes fell upon the ground. "No it wasn't. I can see it in your face that you're lying. Tell me the truth." I demanded. "Fine, I'll tell you-." He was cut off when a drunk Josh came up to us, cerveja in hand. "What do you want, Josh?" I sneered. "I didn't know you guys were going out. That's so cute." He slurred. "Look, I can clearly tell you're drunk. Can you please just go away? Trent and I are trying to have a private conversation." I stood from the car and got in his face a little. "Chill out, dude. I'll leave you to your boyfriend, jeez." He hiccuped and began to wobble away. "Okay, back to what I was saying-." Josh came running back again, but this time with his partner in crime, John. "Doesn't he seem familiar, Josh? Like, you've seen him somewhere before?" He pulled on John's arm as he struggled to stay on his drunken feet. "Yeah, we've seem him at school, you fucking stupid drunk." John hissed and pushed Josh off of him. "No, like.. I've seen his face in the paper somewhere." Josh crushed his cerveja can against his head and threw it behind him. "What do you mean, guys? I've never been in the paper before." Trent shot up from the capuz, capa of the car and walked backwards slightly. "Now I remember. You used to work at that haunted Circus down por the river. Tons of people were killed that dia and you were there. There was a picture of you in the paper standing seguinte to dead bodies. You had blood on your hands. You were most wanted por the police in this town. But you got away." Josh gasped and placed his hand over his mouth. "You stupidly smart idiot." John's eyes widened at Josh's words. "Dude, call the police!" Josh shouted at him. Trent immediately took off running and was gone without a word. "They're on their way." John put his cellphone back in his pocket. The sky roared with thunder and it started to rain heavily. I followed Trent's muddy foot prints to find out where he was going. I pushed wet árvore branches out of my way to clear a path. I heard my boots make squishing noises as I ran across the slippery mud. A flash of lightning let me see Trent running down a steep colina towards the circus. "Trent, stop!" I screamed as loud as I could over the crackling lightning. I saw him look back at me and I could see tears forming in his eyes. He shook his head and continued his way towards the circus. As I was heading down the hill, I messed up my footing on the rocks I was walking over and began sliding down the colina and into the mud. I was now coated in mud from head to toe and had minor cuts on my skin. I pulled myself up out of the mud and ran towards the circus. The booming lightning struck the sign, causing it to almost collapse upon me. I stared at the creepy clown face painted on it before shrugging off and beginning my procurar for Trent. I walked into the large circus tent and began looking around. I heard gentle sobbing come from under the wooden bleachers. I slowly walked over and looked under the bleachers to find Trent curled up in a ball on a pile of dirty rags, crying his eyes out. "Trent?" I reached out to touch him, but he lunged at me. "Look what you've done! If you would've just left me here to rot, I would've stayed safe! It is all your fault!" He screamed in my face and went back to crying on his rag pile. "Trent, I.. I don't understand. What was Josh talking about?" I crawled seguinte to him and placed my hand upon his shoulder. "The dia my life had changed forever." He sobbed loudly into his hands. "Please tell me what happened." I gently asked. "The owner, Tucker, as I had told you before, used to be a pretty nice guy. He would always greet families with smiles at the entrance. This circus was number one in the entire state. Business rates started going down. He had a family of five to feed, and the little money he was getting from the circus just didn't cut it. He wife left him and took the kids with her. That was when he had completely stopped caring about the circus." He spoke with his voice choked up, face in hands. "Go on.." I pleaded. "One dia he had just finally lost it. The circus was full because it was the Fourth of July. Everyone was having a wonderful time and the circus was actually getting money. He ran out of his office with a shotgun and just started killing people out of the blue. He even killed some of his employees. He took the lives of many innocent children and families." Tears began to plummet from his eyes. "Oh my God.." I gasped, tears forming in my eyes. "Josh said he had seen a picture of me in the paper with blood all over my hands. I was trying to mover the wounded, yet still alive people to a safer place away from him. I left the wounded under the bleachers and went to go procurar for more. I saw Tucker with the gun in his mouth, and.." He buried his face into his hands. "He killed himself?" I whispered and he slowly nodded. "I went back to check on the wounded but I was too late. They all had bled to death. The police came to check for survivors, but mostly the person who had caused such a tragic event to happen. Because I was the only one alive there, they assumed I did it and took me to prison. I tried to convince them that the guy who did it had killed himself, but they just wouldn't believe me. I broke out of prison and headed back for the circus to hide." He sniffed and sat upright with his cheek in the palm of his hand. "Did they catch you?" I questioned. "No, but they also found me guilty of something else I wasn't responsible for.." He whispered, his eyes whelming up with tears again. "What?" I felt a stray tear fall from my eye. "The police discovered a meth lab in his office." He spoke so low I barely even heard him. "Oh no." The tears in my eyes finally began to rain down my cheeks. "As I was hiding at the abandoned circus among the rotting bodies, I was thinking of ending my life as well. I had no comida and my bones were starting to become visible. I was in a very dark place at the time. So, I decided to check out his meth lab and-." He sobbing cut him off. "You're an addict?" I gasped. "I didn't have anywhere or anyone to turn to at the time. It made me forget about life for a short amount of time and it made me forget about ending my life." He held his head down in shame. "So, that itching problem you had that dia wasn't because of a rash, but because you didn't have your.. fix for days?" I questioned and he nodded. "I had no idea.. I'm so sorry, Trent." I wrapped my arms around him and cried into his shoulder. "The reason I wanted to stay here was so I wouldn't get you involved in this mess. I also didn't want you finding out about the real me." His words that softly entered my ear sent shivers down my spine. "It's going to be okay." I held him closer. "No, it will never be okay." He pulled away and looked down at the cement floor. I took his tear stained face into my hands and kissed him gingerly on the lips. "Yes it will." I whispered and cupped his cheek with my hand. He smiled through his tears and I smiled back before leaning in for another kiss. Police sirens rang in our ears. I quickly pulled away from his lips and ran towards the entrance of the tent to see what was going on. "In the tent! I see something!" A policeman pointed towards me. I gasped and slid back under the bleachers. "No, go home. Go início before they take you in too." Trent pushed me out from under the bleachers. "I can't just leave you here-." He cut me off. "Just go!" He gave me another shove towards the back entrance of the tent. I ran as fast as I could out of the tent and climbed carefully back up the muddy hill. I hid behind a arbusto, bush and watched two policemen drag Trent out and slam him onto the back of the car. From this distance I could hear his cry of pain from being slammed down harshly. His eyes met mine and I saw a tear roll down his cheek. One of them threw him in the back of the car and drove off towards the police station. I began walking início in the cold and rain, feeling completely useless and empty. "Gwen, there you are! I've been looking all over for you!" My mother slammed on her breaks and got out of her car to hug me. "You okay, Gwen?" Kyle got out of the car and had somewhat concern on his face. "I don't want to talk about it. Just take me home." I croaked and sat in the passenger seat. I dragged my feet all the way up to my bedroom. I stripped from my muddy clothes and took a long, depressing shower. I plopped down on my cama face first and rolled over on my back to look at the empty closet. I slammed my face into my travesseiro and let out a scream followed por a river of tears. I tossed and turned that night thinking about Trent in that lonely jail cell. After countless times of waking up in the middle of the night and crying, I finally got knocked out and went to sleep.

Heaven's gates won't open up for me
With these broken wings I'm fallin'
And all I see is you

These city walls ain't got no amor for me
I'm on the ledge of the eighteenth story
And oh I scream for you

Come please I'm callin'
And all I need from you
Hurry I'm fallin', I'm fallin'

i was giving our 4 mês old baby,Elizabeth, her bottle while watching the news. nothing really good on. i burped Elizabeth and laid her down in her berço and went back to the living room. i`m not watching this boring shit..right before i picked up the remote a video of a huge tornado came on the screen. Trent's pov!
"HURRY! my friend hurt herself!"i screamed at the cop. he said okay, and hung up. i ran over to Gwen and looked at her body. blood, everywhere. this is all my fault! if i never broke up with her or almost married Ionie, this would have never happened! i`m sorry Gwen! p-please don't die Gwen..i`ll make it up to you when you open your eyes again. then i heard cop and ambulância sirens, then some doctors and cops burst through the door and gasped at what they saw. they put her on a mesa, tabela and wheeled her outside into the ambulance. i asked if i could ride with her,and they said yes. i jumped...
