Kanan and Sabine were both walking to the cockpit when they bumped into each other. "Oh, I'm sorry." Sabine apologized. "Go ahead. Ladies first." Kanan replied. Sabine walked in front of him, and from there on, he couldn't take his eyes off her. As she took a seat, she noticed he was still staring. "Why are you looking at me like that?" she asked, pretending to be curious. "Um, sorry, I was...Y'know...Actually..." Kanan stuttered. Sabine laughed. She thought it was cute when he stuttered.
"Why are you really in here?" she asked. "I couldn't sleep, so I thought I'd go on pilot duty." Kanan answered. "Why are YOU in here?" he asked. "Same thing. I thought I'd keep watch." Sabine answered. "I guess that makes two of us on that one." Kanan punned. Sabine tried to hide a stray giggle. The ship went into hyper o espaço and that's where it all began.
"We've known each other a while, and I think you're on of the most reliable and valuable team members we have." Kanan started. Sabine KNEW where this was going right away. "I've always thought the same about you." she replied, trying to play it casual. "Though, you're alittle cocky, we need some rough edges now and then." she continued. Kanan had to laugh. "You can be feisty yourself." Kanan joked. The two laughed. After a moment, it got serious.
"Sabine, if you already have Ezra or any other man in your life, I'm happy for you, but I need you to hear me out-I can't imagine mine without you in it. You're the most beautiful girl in the world to me." Kanan finally confessed. Sabine didn't know what to say. "My word, Kanan, I never knew you liked me that way. I always thought you liked Hera." Sabine stated. "Hera and I DO have history together, but it's nothing like that." Kanan said. Sabine felt herself rejoicing inside. Kanan noticed she hadn't said anything in over a minuto and saw she remained standing in the exact same spot. "Well, I won't interfere. I just wanted you to hear that." he said before exiting. Sabine knew she had to speak up.
"WAIT!" she yelled. Although slightly confused, Kanan turned around and looked back in her direction. "I feel the same way about you." Sabine confessed. At that moment, Kanan felt like the luckiest man in the galaxy. "After I joined The Rebels, I started falling for you. I didn't know if you were committed to saving the galaxy or involved with Hera, but I just felt this spark." she continued. Kanan looked at her for the longest time. "I just knew I had something mais for you. I know this is probably alot for you to take in, but I just wanted-" she was eventually cut off as Kanan rushed up to her, swept her off her feet, and had her lips meet his. Sabine wrapped her arms around his neck and gladly returned the kiss.
After several minutes, the two eventually came up for air. "Sabine Wren, you just made me the happiest man in the galaxy." Kanan confessed yet again. "Well YOU just made me the luckiest girl in the galaxy, Kanan Jarrus." Sabine replied. Before the new couple knew it, they were sitting in side-by-side seats in the cockpit holding hands. "I guess we're official." Kanan said. "Yes we are." Sabine whispered as she rested her head on Kanan's shoulder. Before she knew it, she was asleep. Kanan looked over and saw how peaceful she looked. "I'll always protect you." he whispered in her ear. He put the ship in hyper space, wrapped his arms around her, and thought at how his coração was full, with Sabine thinking the same thing before she drifted off.
