After several months of speculation, it is finally happening. Sony link Spider-Man's film rights with Marvel Studios, meaning that Spider-Man will be featured in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Spider-Man will make an appearance in Captain America: Civil War for 2016 and will later be featured in his own movie in 2017.

The role link, as Andrew garfield has chosen not to continue working in the series. His reasons for quitting are uncertain; perhaps he was tired of Sony withholding information about the status of the series from him or he was disappointed por the movies' mediocre reception. Whatever the case, Andrew is out and Marvel is looking for a replacement.

Although I find it unfortunate that Andrew is not returning, I'm happy to see Spider-Man will appear alongside Marvel's other big stars.
