(Told from Silhouette's POV)
"Silhouette... Can I hold your hand?"
I looked down at him. He seemed pretty shaken. I smiled "Sure." He reached his hand up to mine and grasped it tightly. A little too tight, I might add. We had gone on a group camping trip, and, well, kinda lost our group. It was just the two of us now, out in the woods searching for them. I looked down at Jake. He was so sweet. He knew I was evil. He knew that better than anyone else. And yet, he still wanted to be my friend. Maybe it was because he was 8. Maybe that's what made him so trusting. I looked to the sky, it was already getting dark. I could feel Jake's hand shaking in mine. "Hey buddy, you ok?" I asked. He looked straight ahead, as if he had seen a ghost. "Y-yeah..... Just a little cold." .... He was always bad at lying. As much as I tried to be brave, I was getting scared as well. I had no sense of direction, machinery and nature don't mix well. Jake was still only 8, and this was his first camping trip, so I doubt he knew where he was going. I checked my phone for the 11th time. Damn. Still no bars. I wonder if they ever noticed we were gone. They probably wouldn't realize until they got to the seguinte stop. They would look around, and realize two members were missing. Then they would wonder where they went, or if it was just some prank. Suddenly, Jake's voice broke into my train of thought. "Are we going to find them...?"
I looked down at him, and smiled, pretty nervous. "Don't worry, of course we'll find them!" It started getting darker. But not because of the setting sun, because of the clouds crowding about in the sky. They were forming pretty quickly. No. Please, no. No rain. Rain is the last thing we needed. If too much water got on me, I would short out. And that would leave a small child. Alone. All por himself. In the forest. At night. While it was raining. No. I couldn't let that happen. I was not going to let that happen. Not on my watch. I think Jake could see how worried I was getting. As he immediately said "It's ok, I've got an umbrella!" He reached into the side pocket of his backpack, and pulled out one of those automatic umbrellas, you know, the ones with the buttons that just pop open. I quickly opened it up, only to find it wasn't exactly big enough. "Jake, this is too small! There's no way it's gonna fit the both of us underneath!" He stared at me, looking confused. "We're not going to. You're going to stand under it, I'm going to walk in the rain, silly!" I was...shocked por that statement. "Jake, no, I can't do that! You'll get sick in a matter of minutes!" He just smiled. "Don't worry, I'll be fine!" I stared at him, I didn't know what to do. I couldn't let him get sick(besides, his mom would kill me if I did.) but, if I shorted out, he'd be all alone. I made my decision. I pushed the umbrella into his open hand. ".....Silhouette..." I looked progressivo, para a frente again, jogging a bit. "It's alright. I know we're close to them, I can feel it! I bet if we run, we'll find them in no time!" I gripped his hand as tightly as I could, and started running. It already started to rain, and it hit me hard. "Come on Jake! Faster!" I could hear Jake panting. Under all the rain, I believe I heard him faintly say "I'm going as fast as I can!" Damn, damn, damn! I was already getting slower. My vision was glitching already. Square patches of numbers fogged up my eyes. I was losing my balance, and soon I couldn't even feel the ground below me anymore. I heard a small whisper, it sounded like it was coming from Jake, but it was filtered almost, as if he was underwater. "Silhouette... No, please!" I was trying to stay fine, I really was. But my efforts were in vain. I knew I couldn't stop myself from shutting down. But I think the worst part, was hearing what SHE had to say. Right before I went out, I heard HER. G-Sil. My vision was now black, but I could see, I knew, she was smiling. "That's what you get for pushing yourself too far...."
