1. (1.02) "While You Were Sleeping" - Sherlock Holmes and Joan Watson investigate the murders of two illegitimate children of a wealthy businessman. Matters become complicated when a witness identifies a woman in a coma — the businessman's legitimate daughter — as the killer.

Don't know if anyone has discovered it yet but there is a new novel out there based or should I say, 'related'... to the famous sleuth. It's called 'The fruits of Bohemia' por author Bill Cornwell ('Residents of Wardate' ).
The título gives us the first clue in what develops into an in depth adventure in present time. Can't give the game away too much. Needless to say there are murders, abductions and romance all intertwined in what proves to be a book difficult to put down. It's available on Kindle at the moment for 99p - it might even be free. Don't miss it!

Master of deduction. Crime-solving aficionado. Elusive sleuth. Although Sherlock Holmes is often associated with these grand titles we like to think that on days off he’s just a normal guy. Print and screen representations of Sherlock Holmes don’t tend to depict him sorting out his início insurance (or should we say Holmes insurance?), but it is an important piece of kit whether you’re an esteemed detective, his assistant or evil nemesis.

Given his anterior experience of domestic chaos, contents insurance is important for Holmes’s peace of mind, considering the number of criminals and...

"THE HOUND OF BASKERVILLES" (1939) Review

The ano 1939 proved to be a momentous time for fãs of Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes. The ano marked the debut of two filmes that featured the movie introduction of Basil Rathbone and Nigel Bruce as the famous literary detective and his friend, Dr. John Watson.

There had been anterior movie, stage and radio adaptations of the Sherlock Holmes. But despite the recent success of Robert Downey Jr., Jude Law, Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman in the roles of Holmes and Watson, Basil Rathbone and Nigel Bruce would become the first cinematic...

For the past 120 years or so, Sherlock Holmes has reigned as the indisputable king of fictional characters the world over. So, with the richly deserved popularity of the newest Holmes offering por the redoubtable BBC, it simply stands to tedious reason that American televisão would immediately want to rush out a 'knock off'. Enter 'Elementary', who's misplaced claim to fame is having cast Watson as (egads!!) a woman. Perhaps CBS would like us to forget about their two anterior unsold pilots come TV filmes which featured a couple of perfectly charming lady Watson's (Margaret Colin and Deborah...

"SHERLOCK HOLMES" (2009) Review

I have never been a major fã of the Sherlock Holmes novels and stories penned por Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and other writers. Once, I tried to get interested in them por leitura one or two novels. But they had simply failed to spark my interest.

I have shown a little mais enthusiasm toward the various filmes and televisão adaptations of Doyle’s novels and characters. Mind you, I never became a faithful viewer of the televisão series that starred Jeremy Brett as Holmes. But I have do have my private list of Sherlock Holmes filmes that I consider as personal favorites....

"SHERLOCK HOLMES: A GAME OF SHADOWS" (2011) Review

Following the success of his 2009 movie, "SHERLOCK HOLMES", Guy Ritchie returned to helm a sequel about 19th century detective Sherlock Holmes' battle with his famous arch nemesis, Professor James Moriarty. Both Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law reprise their roles of Holmes and Dr. John Watson.

Loosely adapted from Arthur Conan Doyle's 1893 short story called, "The Final Problem", "SHERLOCK HOLMES: A GAME OF SHADOWS" picks up sometime after the end of the 2009 movie. Thanks to Irene Adler's disclosure of the master criminal, Sherlock Holmes has...

It’s an old discussion, but I can’t resist to post my own take on it. I think this is an issue which went well out of hand from the very start, and I also think that the ongoing discussions about what is the better show are way too much colored por the way Elementary came to exist. So before I discuss the shows in itself, here my thoughts about Elementary being a rip-off.

I firmly believe that the writers of Sherlock were right when they made noise to protect their copyright. While Sherlock Holmes is not their property, their take on this character is, and they had reasons to worry about...

Below is my review of the 1988 Sherlock Holmes comedy called "WITHOUT A CLUE":

"WITHOUT A CLUE" (1988) Review

With Guy Ritchie’s new Sherlock Holmes movie due to be released in theaters this Christmas, I had decided to watch another Holmes film called "WITHOUT A CLUE". Directed por Thom Eberhardt, the movie has the distinction of turning the Sherlock Holmes mythos on its ear por presenting a premise similar to the 1982-1986 NBC series, "REMINGTON STEELE".

Ben Kingsley portrayed Dr. John Watson, a late 19th century physician who had been forced to hide his talent as a criminal investigator by...
