My mom taught me that sex and virginity are no matter. Screw who you will just be safe about it. For some reason, instead of that making me willing to date or go looking for a guy, I am completely paranoid about sex and intimacy in general.

Haha well I think both you and your mom have healthy outlooks. It's unhealthy and repressive to abstain or force your kids to abstain if they are mature and ready for it. However, sex and intimacy IS a big deal and shouldn't be entered into without thinking about the consequences and viewing it in a clear-headed way. So yeah virginity is important, but not in the *blindly waiting till you're married, forbidden to touch another human being* way

Well I think you should CONSIDER whom you give your virginity to....but it's not something sacred that you need to keep as long as possible

I think it's important to give your virginity to someone you love. Kids in my school do it just because they think being a virgin is something to be ashamed of. So half of them wasted their virginities on one-night-stands

Maybe for boys it's more easier to lose you're virginity but I think that for girls...it's a more important thing

I think the whole idea of virginity is a little flawed.

For one, I don't think 90% of people know what the actual definition is (I sure as hell don't). Is it reduced to a male penetrating a woman (because, that means all same-sex couples will always have their virginity), or is it when another person makes you orgasm, or is it when the girl has her hymen (because a lot of girl's hymens are broken by tampons)?

Second, I feel it kind of shames people from having sex. There is nothing wrong with having sex, in my eyes, as long as both people are in consent and that they are of age.

In a way it is, but I wouldn't make it as big deal as some people.
It's not wrong to lose your virginity at a young age if you feel like you're ready and the partner is right.

I never really saw the importance in it.
