    In order, Joe, Sarah, April, Haley, Joan, Thomas and Andrew were leering into the cafeteria to check out the new kid and Zoe sitting alone together. Joe looked furious to which Zoe cringed, she hated Joe's angry face, it was enough to turn her blood cold. April and Haley were excited along with Sarah who had her flirty face on. Joan didn't appear to be too bothered. Thomas was purely curious.
    Good old Thomas. Zoe thought.
    "Why does the red haired boy look like he is about to cut my head off?"

Gifted; Chapter 9: New Student

The walk to school was the longest one yet. No one came to meet her today and once again, that being watched feeling came upon her; she had to look over her shoulder so often it looked as though she had a twitch. The rusty Toyota was there, but in a different spot, however, the body shape through the windows was there again too. She considered going to knock on the window but common sense came through, going to knock on the windows would be like suicide.
She missed her friends, it was silly but she wished they were here, she needed support, she needed them to convince her she was not going crazy....

April's house was a haven to Zoe; it was so warm.
"I'm sorry for scaring you guys." Zoe said.
April waved her hand, telling her to forget about it but she didn't look at her.
"It's fine Zo'" Davy reassured her in a soft voice. "Next time though, just come tae one o' our houses, 'k?"
"Yeah," Haley put in. "Just don't scare us like that again!"
Haley hadn't said a word since Zoe found them and even then, her tone was disapproving, rude and sharp.
"Hale," Zoe begged. "You know I didn't mean to scare you. I never thought you would find out."

She ran to the park and perched on the swing. There was no way she would make it to her friends' houses, she had to get it all out now. Clutching on to the balanço for dear life she burst out in tears. Why was Uncle Fredrik so stupid? Didn't he realise that he could end up killing himself? Didn't he care about what he was doing to his family and friends? Every thought made Zoe cry harder and for longer. Even when she had cried so much her head hurt, the tears wouldn't stop. Thank goodness she hadn't done this in her friends company, they would all be freaked out por now and would go and beat Uncle...

The Gang walked Zoe most of the way to her home. Each person had a load of homework to do, most of it for the seguinte day, some for the previous.
Zoe's mind had many thoughts whizzing around at once; she was very happy to see Davy again, she was depressed over the amount of homework she had received in one day, considering she only had three different subjects (two pages on Trigonometry for Math and a non- calculator sheet all due tomorrow. She had to complete a plan for an essay on Euthanasia and complete the introduction for English, also due tomorrow and she still had to finish her Biology homework...

Gifted; Chapter 4: The College Student

The rest of the dia may as well of stood still, Zoe decided grumpily. Start the dia with Music, a free period, then double Maths with Mr Brachen (also known as Mr Boredom), then finish with double English... Ahh well, at least it's over... finally.
The most exciting part of the dia would probably of been the several run ins with Mark. Three other times after the cafeteria incident, Zoe and the rest of the Gang had to jump in and save Joan from Mark's taunts and vice versa. Andrew was all ready for a fight but Haley talked him out of it with one small tear.

Gifted; Chapter 2: April

Zoe was unable to sleep for the rest of the night -though she was centainly tired enough- and consequently, she was rather tetchy in the morning when she actually had to get out of bed. URGH. Groaning, Zoe went for a long shower, trying to undo the knots that had tied themselves among her muscles. This is ridiculous, she thought, why am I so tense?
The chuveiro did not help in the slightest, if anything, she felt as though she had mais knots. Trying to turn her attention away from her tenseness, she concentrated on trying to remember her dream since it was the reason she hadn't been able to sleep...
