Chapter 10
“So they are planning to kill you, Edward?” Carsile said solemnly.
“Yes, but Alice thinks she an prevent it. She has a plan.”
“How?” He asked Alice.
Alice cleared her throat to grab everyone's attention. “Everyone just stop your worrying. The situation is under control. There's no need to worry!”
I glared at her. How could she think everything was ok? As far as I knew I was still going to die.
“This situation is most definitely not under control.” I said through my now clenched teeth.
How could she know for a fact that she could prevent anything from happening?
“Oh come on, Edward. Don't you trust me?”
I continued to stay quiet and glare.
She rolled her eyes. “Would you feel better if I stopped blocking my thoughts to let you see the plan yourself?”
I nodded, and started to block everyone elses thoughts from my head. I focused only on the plan flashing through both mine and Alice's heads.
“That could work.” I mused.
She grinned. “I told –”
I cut her off. “Say it and you'll regret it.”
I grinned playfully so she would know I was only joking.
“Fine, I won't say it. Promise.”
“Ok.” I murmured.
“Edward?”
“Um yeah Alice?”
“Guess what?” She grinned again.
“Um what?” I said slowly anticipating her answer.
“I told you so!” She said quickly. She ran over to Emmett and hid behind him for protection.
I just laughed.
“Let's get going.” Emmett said impatiently.
“Yes, let's go.” Esme agreed.
We all turned back to our cars, and we were about to climb in when suddenly behind us we heard a car screech to a stop.
I turned around to see no other than...
“Hey bloodsucker.” Jacob greeted me with a nod.
“What are you doing here?” I demanded.
Shock crossed his face. He probably wasn't expecting my tone. The shock soon turned to confusion. “The girl over there,” He pointed to Alice. “Invited us. She said you guys needed some help, and of course we couldn't turn down the opportunity to fight some leeches.”
“What I meant is why are you here. Aren't you supposed to be guarding Bella back in La Push?”
Understanding finally hit him. “Oh, we had some of the pack stay back. Don't worry I wouldn't let anything happen to Bella. You know that.”
I calmed down a bit.
“OK so are we going to go save Blondie or are we just going to sit here and pergunta each other?”
The car ride wasn't long. We pulled up to the address Haley had given us back at the house within a half hour.
I got out of the car, and walked to where everyone else was standing.
“This must be the wrong address.” Es me shook her head.
“Yeah, it just looks like a empty field. There's nothing in sight.” Carsick Agreed.
Alice's POV
My eyes searched the crowed forest that bordered the field on three of its sides.
In the far corner a small concrete building caught my eye. Just a few feet away from the building were three others. They looked bigger though, and were made of wood.
“Edward she's in there.” I whispered. I pointed towards the cement building. “That's where Rosalie is.”
“Ok how do we get there?” He whispered back.
“There's an opening we go to the opening. When we get there we will see 12 pathways, but only one will lead up to that building. We'll have to dividido, dividir up, and each of us will take a different pathway. It will save us time. Whoever finds the pathway that leads up to the building will signal the rest of us to come.” I instructed them.
When they all nodded, I began crossing the field. They followed behind. We reached the opening, and just as I predicted there were 12 pathways leading from the opening back into the woods. The paths looked to have many twists and turns in them.
“I'll take this one.” Esme said gracefully moving to one of them.
We all wished each other luck, and picked the paths we would take.
“Ok Edward lets take this one.” I pulled him over to one.
“Your coming with me?”
“I told you that I wouldn't let them kill you. Me coming with you is the only way you won't die.”
“Why is that?”
“I saw it in a vision. You and I were both together on a path.”
We followed the path, but when we rounded the first bend, we stopped dead in our tracks.
“Vampire.”
The scent of another vampire filled the air. Not a vampire we knew. This could only mean on thing...
The vampire stepped out to where we could see her. He eyes burned a bright crimson red.
“Hello.” Her high bell-like voice sang.
Edward and I tensed at the sound.
She chuckled. “I won't hurt you.”
She took a few steps closer.
“Who are you?” I demanded.
“My name is Alexis.”
“And you are working for the one who kidnapped Rosalie?” I guessed.
“Yes, but only por force. I would never want to hurt anyone. It's just that I'm a new vampire I'm only a few months old, and I have no where else to go. Boss changed me heself so that I would cadastrar-se her army, and help destroy you.”
“I thought you weren't going to hurt us?”
She shook her head. “I'm not going to hurt you. That's what Boss told me to do, but I won't. I want to help you.”
