Ron was trying to wait patiently. He was at Kings cruz Station with Hermione and Hugo, and Rose was coming início for the Holidays. He hoped that Rose was not sitting in a car with Scorpius Malfoy, but with Albus or James or whoever her other friends were. But Ron's thoughts were interrupted por his sister and best mate. ''Well, I guess you're happy to see Rose after these months, right?'' Harry asked, grinning. He knew full well that Ron was missing Rose very, very much. He would rant about it at work every single dia for a mês after she left. Eventually, Ron got over it, and Harry was grateful that he did. But Lily wasn't happy that James and Albus were coming início at all. ''But-but they'll be even mais annoying! James said when he left in September he'd make up for it at the Holidays!'' Harry and Ginny just ignored Lily's whining and knew she would get over it soon. Hugo, however, stood there quietly and obediently, waiting for Rose. Finally, the familiar red train rolled into the station. Students began piling out, but Ron saw no sign of his Rose. Or Albus. Or James. Finally, he saw his Rose get off the train with James and Albus. But there was something wrong. There were bags under her eyes, and she looked tired. Her eyes met her fathers, and she immediately looked down. James caught Ron's eye, and Ron sent him a look that read ''What's wrong?'' James then put an arm around Rose and his eyes seemed to say ''You'll see.'' Then the three of them walked over. Finally, they met, and instead of a warm greeting home, it was silent between them. Finally, Harry spoke up. ''Well, erm, Ron and Hermione and Rose and Hugo will be spending natal at our house, as usual...''And with that, they all loaded into Harry and Ginny's car and drove home.

The house was decorated. Not over decorated of course, but just enough to have people know that it was Holiday time. There was a árvore in the living room, and a fogo in the fireplace behind it. Ron hoped that he would not have to help put out a fogo this Christmas. Pretty soon, it was time to go to bed. But Ron wasn't going to cama before he knew, for sure, that Rose was okay. He pulled her aside and into a nearby closet. ''Dad, what's with the closet?'' He took her face and cupped it in his hands. ''Your mother and I just want the best for you and Hugo. And seeing you like this is really, truly, wrecking my Christmas.'' He stopped, knowing that those words would affect Rose's attitude completely. As if on cue, her eyes grew wide. He dropped his hands from her face. She flung her arms around her father and started to cry softly. ''Why are you crying?'' She looked up. ''I guess I thought I let you down. I mean, all I ever do is write about my grades. I never ask how you and Mum and Hugo are doing...'' She trailed off, burying her face in her father's shirt. Ron, picked her up and put her into cama with Hugo. He always knew how to make her feel better. Ron then went back to the room he was to share with Hermione, and he saw that she was still up. ''Hermione, you should go to sleep. It's not healthy to stay up this late.'' She looked tired, but it didn't seem that she cared. ''I just...knew there was something the matter with her. Something didn't seem right, and I want to know what she told you.'' Ron sighed. He knew that now, he couldn't go to bed. But, he had a plan. ''But Mione, Santa can't come unless everyone is asleep..'' He grinned. Hermione sighed. ''I'll just go to sleep...'' She laid down, and Ron seguinte to her. Ron, couldn't resist, and took Hermione into the crook of his arm and let her sleep there. He couldn't help but think, that this was the best Holidays he ever had.
