It had been a mês since she left. Ron finally understood what his parents felt like when he went with all of his siblings to Hogwarts. The house was a bit quieter according to Hugo, who now spent his days alone at início when Ron was at the Auror Office and Hermione was at The Care For Magical Creatures Office. But the house seemed different to Ron too...there was something about Rose's presence that always comforted him, like he knew exactly where his little girl was and what she was doing. With her at Hogwarts, Ron didn't know if she was studying, or taking a test, or doing homework...or just being herself with her friends. He was brought back to reality por Hermione's voice. ''Ron, you haven't said a thing all through dinner. It's not like you not to be hungry...are you okay?'' Hermione's eyes were filled with worry, and Ron always thought that look reminded him of a scared deer. ''Dad, if it's about Rose, I got a letter from her today...'' Ron snapped away from Hermione's eyes. ''You did? Where is it?'' He demanded. Hugo shrugged. ''I'll go get it.'' Ron couldn't believe that Hugo hadn't told Hermione and him about this sooner. ''Ron, don't be upset about the letter...he was probably going to tell us about it sooner or later anyway.'' But before Ron could respond, Hugo came downstairs with the letter from Rose. He handed it to him and Ron read it. It said:
Dear Mum, Dad, and Hugo
As you know, I am in Gryffindor along with Albus and James. I have been keeping up with my schoolwork and I am proud to say it's all good grades. (Guess I did gets Mum's brains, right?)I have also made some friends...Scorpius Malfoy, Aimee, and Lizzie. They are nice to me dad, so you don't have to interrogate them at the end of the year. And Hugo, Nearly Headless Nick prefers to be called ''Sir Nicholas.'' And whatever Roxanne tells you, don't call him Nearly Headless Nick. At all. He gets very emotional...but anyway, Mum, I am passing my homework and reports so you don't need to worry.
With Love,
Rose
Ron's eyes read the letter. She was friends with a Malfoy? He was defiently brainwashing her. No question. ''She's. Friends. With. A. Malfoy. Hermione, do you know what that means?'' Ron demanded. ''That she's friends with a Malfoy? Honestly Ron, can't you trust her?'' ''I suppose. But I don't trust him.'' Hermione sighed. ''I guess I can't change your mind, but be aware what you're saying, Ron.'' The rest of jantar was silent. When jantar was over, Hugo went upstairs, and Ron and Hermione went to their room. ''I still can't believe she's friends with the Malfoy boy. I thought she had your brains!'' ''Ron, it has nothing to do with brains. She befriended him, and there's nothing we can do about it. We can't very well keep them apart now.'' They both settled into bed, and when Ron thought Hermione was asleep he leaned over and kissed her gently on the forehead. He might not have his Rose at the moment, but he had his Mione.
