'Reign' Season 3 SPOILERS: New Promo Teases More Of Queen Elizabeth, Backstabbing And Romance [WATCH VIDEO]

Reign" has been revealed, teasing more of the drama to come this fall. Executive producer Laurie McCarthy says there will be "more of Queen Elizabeth, more court intrigue, more backstabbing, more front stabbing, more romance and love as our queens and their kings all struggle to hold on to power and love."

About next season, McCarthy told Entertainment Weekly, "The show\'s got a certain amount of elasticity to it. It\'s called \'Reign,\' and it can track any number of people\'s reigns. So what I like about it is that (Elizabeth\'s) been a character on our show, it feels like, almost since the beginning. And we\'ve kind of painted this picture of her as somebody kind of lying in wait and a competitor of Mary\'s, but also a threat to her.

McCarthy added, "I\'ve been really excited to meet her. And what she also allows us is the ability to go to another court, which is what we\'re going to do in season 3. We\'ll see the court of England. We\'ll see the Elizabethan court and see the people who surround her. So that\'s what I\'m excited about; that allows the show to have even more scope."

"Reign" begins its third season with Mary and Francis realizing that they are more powerful together than apart, believing there is hope for them to move forward, leaving behind the anger and hurt. It also introduces us to another Court, that of Elizabeth, "Virgin" Queen of England. Still early in her reign, Elizabeth faces opposition on all sides, particularly from men who doubt a woman\'s ability to rule. Like Mary and Catherine de Medici, she struggles to hold on to power and love. The women have much in common and Mary and Elizabeth are reluctant foes, but foes nonetheless, each positioned by birth and fate to destroy all the other holds dear.

"Reign" will be back with new episodes this fall on the CW.
