This is probably the wrong place to ask this but I need help.

I think the problem is that you haven't found a book that you enjoy yet. Think about the Harry Potter series - what was it about those books that you liked? What made you want to read them?

If you find a book that really interests you, you want to read it. Losing patience with a book just means that you don't find the story interesting. My conselhos would be to think about past books that you've really liked and figure out what it was you liked about them. Then, try to find a book por the same author, or por an author that has the same style, and try to read it. Start slowly; if you find the book interesting, you won't have to force yourself to read it.

If you need recommendations for books, tons of people here and on the Literature spot are always happy to help. Or, you could go to your nearest biblioteca or bookstore and ask someone who works there to help you find something that you may like.

Alternately, if you find that the story interests you, but you still don't have the patience to read, could it be that you might need glasses? I first realized that I needed leitura glasses because I stopped wanting to read, and I noticed that I would get a headache every time I read for mais than 15 minutos or so.

I have this problem as well but I realized I don't really want to start leitura again (I actually read manga, comics, and graphic novels instead now)
I say you should just read a little at a time. I'm not saying read little chapter books but may be read a chapter a day?

You can read short novels to start with..or por chapters,pick books that interest you most.
