It's not my cup of tea. But if I were you I'd ask a GOT fã that is non-biased to get the pros and the cons about the show. It's hard for me to get into it because I couldn't stand the characters from jump.
It is incredible. It is a commitment though, it takes the first season before it takes off into something extraordinary and I don't say that about shows often.
No, the show is pretty bad in terms of characterization, plot, dialogue, and generally has a big problem with its female characters (it has gotten better this season though). The books are at least 100x better!
