Yes it does.

A child would wish to use a weapon in real after playing such games and if the child is raised wrong he will probably become bad gangster that's, my opinion.

I am not smart enough to let my words out :/

Ah gee I see after playing some Far Cry 3 surely I would amor to get a bow and Arqueiro and skewer people with arrows, right? Is that what you're trying to say here? So if we were to follow your logic here then ANY form of media that contains references to weapons would influence a child to be violent include television, movies, literature etc.

My view went too far and of course a criminal gets idea of crime por TV and media etc. But I shouldn't have been going this far because this is just about video games and kids hmn..

I don't believe that video games promote violence, just like (excuse my language) pornography doesn't promote rape. Video games just allow people to not be violent towards others and instead be violent towards fake avatars, and if a child does become violent towards others it isn't the video games fault, they just didn't have any one to tell then the difference between a game and reality.

First off, it depends on the video game. Mario Brothers would not promote violence and are fine. But GTA is way too violent.
Some kids and adults can handle but if they are not careful, they might not be able to distinguish reality and video games. Kids playing those games might grow up thinking it is okay to shoot people or steal stuff, etc. All because they were able to do without consequences on a game. If kids start playing those games too young and too often, they might forget it is not okay to do that in real life.
Again it all depends on the video game.

No it depends on the parental guidance and on how the player perceives the game itself. Its not the game's fault, its the player

There's a large amount of variables to that equation.

Games such as Grand Theft Auto, Call of Duty, and Modern Warfare, as I have noticed, do promote violence to minors (as in children under 14). I've noticed an increase in the interest of armas and war in my younger brother. Then again it also depends how easily influenced the child/adult themselves are. My brother is a fairly easily influenced person, so there it is. For the average minor I think it leads to a belief that weaponry is cool but not necessarily to a violent mind. For the average adult it's simply another video game. I do not think they directly and/or intentionally promote violence, but they can influence violence in young children who are easily influenced.

no geral, global my opinion is that it's up to the parents/guardians of the minor to see if they are mature enough to handle violent video games and not develop a dark mind. To the adults it up to themselves to know what they can handle and to know that just because killing looks fun in a video game it is in fact illegal in real life.

Disagree.
I play lots of violent games but I still wouldn't want to hurt a fly. People are able to distinguish reality from something not real. Video games aren't real and most wouldn't dream of doing what they do there in real life. I would never jump on turtles, but if someone does because of Mario, they're probably already a lunatic without needing the game's influence. People are conscious beings able to make decisions. If they can't make a decision that what they're able to do in a game is unacceptable in real life (mass shooting, stealing, etc.)....Lets just say its almost as liable as cartoons, which from my understanding, haven't turned many people into Wild E. Coyote. A child who is unable to distinguish reality from games or desenhos animados should not be playing games, or anything above E rating.
As most gamers would say, "Real life is a crappy game." Thats why, gamers are violent IN games, but NOT IN real life.

Not really. I play violent video games and I know others who do as well and they never committed a crime. I think much of it has to do with a person's ability to distinguish between reality and fiction.

I think it depends but then again I don't think playing Harvest Moon makes me a farmer. So I can't really say playing murderous video games makes someone a killer.

Disagree to the highest level.

All this "video games causes violence/promotes violence/makes people killers" news that the mainstream media and news outlets spout out is mere scapegoating for actual problems in our society. They blame video games, or any other form of media for that matter instead of focusing on the real problems that does cause violence such as bad parenting, war, gun control, bullying etc.

This is also a trend that has been going on for quite a while wherein whatever is the popular media form gets blamed for influencing bad ideas and actions. Before it was rock and roll music, then comic books, then movies, then tv and now video games. Its all a vicious cycle of ignoring the actual things that causes violence and instead focusing on something that has little or no relevance at all to promoting violent actions.

Violence and such heinous actions has existed long before video games, or any media form for that matter were even invented. So if video games did cause violence, then I really do wonder what kind of video games the crusaders, the vikings, the mongols, the nazis and the terrorists play.

I think it doesn't promote violence but rather glorifies it and serves as a wish fulfiller of sorts, allowing people from various backgrounds to experience it from a seguro enough distance.

I guess it depends but really, I think people promote violence not video games. It's like saying filmes or música may promote violence, which they don't. A person just chooses to create violent acts that usually aren't based on what video game they've played. I just don't agree with it. I think the cause of people doing violent acts has to do with how they were brought up at início por their parents or other family/friend members. I watch a lot of Criminal Minds. That's just my opinion.
