I am very sorry to hear that..I may not know what it's like to lose a pet, but I'm sure since it was a part of the family, he was a good member at that.
I'd say that the pain will be there for quite some time. Knowing that it's still fresh in your mind is horrible. You will tear and miss him. Even mais so if you raised him fro a cachorro, filhote de cachorro to adulthood. The pain inflicts more..

BUT, don't be TOO sad. Though his physical body may be gone, know that he is in a much better place where he can dig up all the flores he wants, catch all the balls in the field he wants and is surely being taken care of. Not that you didn't take care of him, but in the sense that he doesn't have to worry about pain and probably didn't feel it.
You may tear now and then, but it will be the tears of happiness. And you will always keep him close to you. And whether or not you chose to get another pet, no other pet will be like the one you had before. Each has something special and the memories of the good times will NEVER fade.

:)

Hope that helped.

Awww... I'm sorry about your dog. :( My dog died when I was in first grade. I'm sorry to say this your pain doesn't go away for a long time. I still can't get over my pain for my old dog. Here are some of the best solutions I can think of at the moment:

1. Try and get a new pet: I know it will never replace your old dog but when my dog died we got a new one my sadness went away almost immediately. If you can't get a new one thats ok. :)

2. Talk about it: Talk to your best friends or other people who have lost their pets. It will help you see thats its not just you who has lost a pet, that lots of people do. This should help a lot!

3. Don't be afraid to cry: When I lost my dog I cried for 3 days straight. After that I felt much better. :)

Hope this helps! :) If you someone to talk to you can always message me.
