What sort of punishment should rapists receive after being caught?

i.e. should they be sent to jail, be tortured, be sent to death row. What do you believe should happen to them?

... Now i'm trying to decipher what you meant por tortured rape. Isn't any rape torture? Then again, I suppose normal rape would'nt be a bad thing for a rapist to recieve, so I suppose I see your point.

Of course rape a crime beyond pardon and punishment should beyond imagination,but no punishment should be beyond irrecoverable. There are several reasons behind that. We need reformations to reform these criminals, of course, we need to punish them,but we need to keep in mind we don't do another crime such as capital punishment or cutting off parts of body, that is in-human. But that does not mean these culprits should go free without punishment, again I repeat they should get punishment to get them reform.

Hm... That's an interesting POV. I agree one hundred percent. If they have a messed up past and are messed up now, then yea, some provisions should be made to help them come back to a stable mental state.

Have you heard of Sahar, the Arabic 15 year-old girl married to an older man, but tortured and brutally mutilated por her family in law? They say that they were going to put her in prostitution as well. This has nothing to do with rape, but I think the principle is sort of the same. For in-human actions come in-human consequences. I guess our opinions vary on this subject, but doing something like this to a poor defenseless 15 year-old girl is intolerable to me.

edit: Oh damn, but what if it's a woman? I guess the segundo punishment won't apply then. Honestly, I'm all for equality, but I wouldn't help other guys beat up some woman. Locking her up and throwing away the key would suffice.
