Should you be nice to people who are not nice to you?


My stepdad gets annoyed at me because refuse to show the women in my family sympathy and pretend they did no wrong. They are just plain unpleasant, so why should i show them kindness when they've never done the same for me? Treat people how you want to be treated, right? When someone does wrong, don't they not deserve to be treated nicely?

Absolutely! Ever heard of "treat others the way you want to be treated"? I think if your nice enough to a person long enough, they'll feel guilty for their actions and eventually apologize. I dunno, I think that just might be my philosophy, but the world seems know how to treat people. If you've been mean or cruel, I think you can expect a horrible future. If you've been nice and giving, maybe the future will be better, even if your past has been dark.
