Why do some people (mainly girls) act like flirting is fun?

I always see and hear girls talking about flirting like it's something to do for fun, like an actual recreational activity. How can atuação like a tease be fun? I honestly cannot imagine what can be fun about flirting. Whenever a girl says something like "Yay! lets go out on the town, flirt with guys, and have some fun" i really try not to think that that girl as a strumpet, but the idea that people who are not whores do that for fun is kind of an alien concept to me.

Haha, strumpet....

No idea, but I stopped paying attention at the word "strumpet". For some reason that word is currently cracking me up.

The word might be better than slut, or whore, or skank because it sounds like an instrument. Trollop's a good word too.

I'm just wondering, from a psychiatric perspective, why they would do such a thing.

Even though I'm a teenage girl, that concept has always been a mystery to me. I get that it can be fun when you meet a new guy, but really, why flirt if you already have a boyfriend or if you're not really interested? Some girls are just so shallow that they can honestly think of nothing else. I I know mais girls like this than necessary. Thank god I'm not one of them.

Just like how hanging out with friends is fun: you're socializing and killing time.

So toying with other people's emotions is fun or something? It just sounds like a really manipulative thing to do.
MasterOfFear posted over a year ago

Yeah, like flirtatious people just want to toy with other's emotions. :-/ Nah, to me, flirting isn't toying with another's emotions or anything like that. I simply believe that flirting is used just to socialize, give-and-get attention, and possibly even make a new friend. I wouldn't exactly know how flirting works because I barely socialize, let alone flirt with strange men, but I seen many cases where women flirt with men and the men knew it was simple fun, no chemistry whatsoever.

I understand where you are coming from, but I don't really think saying "mainly girls" is fair. That may be your case, but I actually know way mais guys who do that sort of thing than girls.

Anyway, I'm not sure. It doesn't seem like something that would be very fun to do. I've never done anything of that sort, but then again I don't really flirt with anyone. Especially people I like. I mostly flirt with girls in a joking manner.

I just know allot of guys actually complaining about that and calling girls like that cockteases while i hear girls say doing that is fun. So from my perspective, it seems like girls do it more.

Flirting is enjoyable and it makes you feel great. It's great for your ego and gives you a huge confidence boost.

I see what you're saying, though. I would never flirt with a guy I have no intention on ever seeing again, it just seems like a waste of time. ...Well maybe, if he and I both know we'll probably never see each other again, but never to the point of leading someone on.

I suppose the ones who randomly flirt with anyone are people who are less concerned with the other person's feeling, or don't think the other person would think too much of it.
