can you wear jewelry in the shower?

i got this new sterling silver faith inspiration colar from target -_-
i've had some other fancier mais expensive faith/cross necklaces in the past, like this old pendant that i got from my mom that was about 20 years old made from sterling silver, and i wore it in the chuveiro and it never rusted or changed color or anything. it mostly sparkled(:
so i wondered if i could wear this new colar in the chuveiro or to the pool or de praia, praia too? would it change as cores or rust or tarnish? its kinda cheap O.o
