Why do people like 8 so much all of a sudden?

Because she is a perfect number.
8 is the symbol of absolute perfection and utmost balance.
You can divide 8 in half over and over again until you get back to 1 perfectly and efficiently.
You can take 8 things and separate them into equal groups, since it's an even number.
But unlike 3, there is one flaw that 8 has.
If you add another 8 to an already existing 8, you get 16, the most conflicted number in the universe, since 1+6=7, and 6-1=5. 8's double is conflicted, giving her just one single flaw. That flaw makes her perfect, because it creates a balance between good and bad.
8 is the most perfect number in the universe.
And if you say she's awful, I don't care. I won't have much respect for you, but I certainly won't bug you about it. Not too much, anyway.
