Is it normal for a teacher to give you a book to read which is of a sexual nature?

My history teacher gave me this book called Mr Norris changes trains to read with instructions to make notes on Nazi Germany, but I've started chapter 4 and the Nazis have barely been mentioned, and the whole book so far has been full of sexual implications, the narrator (a bloke called William Bradshaw) has already walked in on a weird sex scene and I half expect "Mr Norris" to proposition the narrator when I'm leitura it. And this is just the start of the book.

I feel very uncomfortable with this book and I seriously don't want to read any mais of it, but I'm not sure what else to do. Any ideas?

Oh dear, no clue what to do but at least this isn't as bad as my cousin who's in kindergarten having a teacher who decided to have an in depth discussion about gay marriage with the class. I don't think they even discuss straight marriage in kindergarten.

Yeah, that's really weird. Not something young children need to know about, in my opinion. Long live innocence!

His mom went to talk to the teacher about it and she claimed it was a logical topic to discuss.

Not sure that I see the logic, but you can't reason with some people.

I consider it somewhat normal. I've read that book before; it eventually leads to some important notes, hun, believe me.

My teacher recommended a WWII book to me last ano that was also somewhat sexual, My Enemy's Cradle. It was fiction, but everything going around about the Nazis in the story was completely true, because I researched it afterwards.

Don't worry ^^

I'm glad to hear it gets mais normal, I feel a bit better about leitura it now - at least I know I'm readin it for a valid reason. Thank you kindly. :)
