I think he likes you, and when he hugs you again, ask him, 'By the way why DO you hug me?'. If you feel the same way (liking him), then sometimes give him subtle hints, like maybe hugging him back. :)

There might be a chance that he likes you but don't expect that he will like you. I had the same experience and I thought the guy liked me so I hoped high for the dia that he would tell me who likes me but when I ask him if he did, he just told me we were friends and askldjskflds
