In books/movies/shows which endings do you prefer? A sad one or a happy one?

I always feel as though the story is incomplete whenever i see it conclude with apparent good cheer.
I just think that when an ending is not a happy one, it always a better embrulho, envoltório up for the story.
'and they all lived happily ever after' just doesn't seem like a very satisfying means to an end.

Happy. But I prefer the 'in the end, it'll all work out' happy rather then the 'they got married and lived happily ever after' happy. I like the sad kind of happy, you could say. The one where, I dunno, Dad's dead, main character's lover is dead, but there's that sense of hope. No "happily ever after," but a "there could be happiness in the future." You know? Those kind of endings.

*You would want to buy the seguinte BOOK. The seguinte series would refer to a whole other series.

How about a sad-happy ending?
Like one where maybe the main character's brother, who's been there helping through the entire story and that you grow to amor as a character, dies. But then after he dies, the world is saved in part because of him, and everyone else can live in peace or something.

i think that still counts as a happy ending of there is a positive resolution.

It depends on what the tone has been throughout the series/book/movie/show.

Like, what the events prior have been, and how it leads up to the ending, and how the author writes it.
