Umm, yeah! Especially if you've never seen them in person, you can never be 100% sure they're who they say they are. But if you know them well in person, then it's not that weird. Any way you look at it, no matter how they told you, it would be an awkward situation.

Yes. You always hear about predators and stalkers, so who knows if the person who asked was one too. Unless it is your real boyfriend/girlfriend, then it wouldn't be as weird.
