What are your views about divorce?

For me, personally I don't see anything wrong with it. Sometimes people get married that weren't meant for each other and they didn't realize it until they were married so they get a divorce..no biggy. But I'm just curious to know what you guys think about it.

(Kind of come up with this pergunta because of Orangeturnip's marriage question.)

I agree with you.

Thank you. It'd be kind of weird if I was against it anyways, a lot of my family have been married, divorced, and remarried.

Statistics show that in America 9/10 marriges end in divorce.

I don't see the point in marrige to be honest.
If you amor someone, you shouldn't NEED to have to show them with being bonded for life that you care. They should already know.

My mom and dad were together for 19 years, not married, just together, had 6 kids. me being one of them.

They are not together anymore, but they don't hate eachother and never had to fuss over a divorce because they were never married.

It's just easier without marrige.

To be quite honest i don't particularly like it. Not because i think it's wrong or anything, after all if two people decide they no longer amor each other then why not? Better to have divorce then spend the rest of your lives miserable. But i don't personally like it because my parent's got divorced when i was 6 and i didn't see my mother for ten years after that.

However some religions don't like divorce, so it depends on what background you come from whether you believe in divorce or not.

Also couples who get divorced should take some conselhos and don't do what my parents did. Just because you don't amor each other any mais doesn't mean you have to bitchy or fall out with each other. If you have children it's especially important to talk to them about it together and make them understand that just because they don't amor each other doesn't mean they don't amor their children. Divorcees should be open and honest with each other and give each other rights to their children. Even if one parents moves away they still have parental responsibility to that child imo and shouldn't just fuck off without telling them.

But to conclude cos i've just realised the anger is coming up - no it's not wrong, but it can be disastrous to those who aren't completely involved and who should be loved and cared for enough to be respected and told.

I don't think divorce is right. It just seems to me that marriage is about true love, and if there is true love, there would be no need to get a divorce anyway.

yes but you shouldn't NEED to get married to show someone who you truly amor and care about that you do.

hahah you cant say that, STD'S HIV !?!? i dont know what your talking about, if that were true, marrige would be a MUST DO law. not a decision as it is today.

Well, so long as its before you have children. If you have kids i dont like it because it can hurt the kids emotionally, but other wise i dont mind. Also, it doesnt always hurt the kids but its a risk.

If they stay together and are being unhappy, I think that would hurt a lot more.

it would hurt a lot mais if they are unhappy, i know because my parents are unhappily married and i blame myself. Also, gagaboi, that may have worked got them but it wont always. and didnt it bother you? I plan on waiting until i'm sure the guy i'm with is the one i want to spend the rest of my life with, im a huge fã of commitment. i want to get married because its tradtional and symbolic and (in christianity) the right thing to do. I know in some religions its okay to have kids out of wedlock but even personally i dont agree with it, but thats just me.

I think its right. Some people end up getting married too young and then realize the spark is gone. It also can solves problems. Or it can be like my parents. They dividido, dividir up cause my dad is gay. They both weren't happy and now they are.

I read somewhere that 60 percent who marry end up getting a divorce. I think divorce is fine. I think it's really horrible if the two people absolutely hate each other and tell that to their kids. Sometimes divorce is what's best for the family

Yeah, you don't NEED a marriage to show that you amor them, but I think it's a sweet idea, don't you think? I mean, I know I still want my 'big day'. Divorce... I don't care. It causes too much hate in the world. But I wouldn't say I look down upon those who do. I mean, yeah, if you decide you don't like the person, why be forced to stay with them? Honestly. But I do encourage marriage, unless you don't want to ever be intimate (hint). Well, I guess you could still... *cough* do that *cough* but it's against the ten commandments. Well, sin can be forgiven, I must say. Well, I don't have a problem with divorce, and that's basically what this pergunta is asking of me... so yeah. (I'm sorry for the rant.)
