dramatização aleatória Dreamcast

TAIKAMODO posted on Oct 15, 2016 at 08:54PM
Dreams are, by definition, "A succession of images, ideas, emotions, and sensations that usually occurs involuntarily during certain stages of sleep". These successions are extremely diverse, ranging from the normal, like peaceful strolls through a field of flowers, to abnormal, like navigating the toppings of an oversized Pizza in search of the holy salt shaker. But despite their diverse nature, all of these successions can be divided into two distinct categories, depending on what's responsible for them;

Dreams, the harmless successions that peacefully exist within the mind and are caused by Dream Espers*, and Nightmares, the demonic successions that corrupt their vessels that are caused by Nightmare Espers*.

These successions, both Dreams and Nightmares, exist in an alternate reality. When beings from this realm sleep, their subconscious temporarily drifts between our own reality, the "Outercast"*, and the alternate reality, the "Dreamcast"*. This drifting area inbetween the two realities, known as "Innertia"*, is where our two realities mix together to create the successions humans recognize as Dreams. But what humans don't recognize, is the danger one faces when drifting in Innertia.

While drifting, your subconscious is completely unprotected and able to be freely tampered with by Dream and Nightmare Espers alike. While Dream Espers are harmless and even helpful at times, Nightmare Esperss and very dangerous. Nightmare Espers feed off of Humans, and use the subconscious of drifting humans to make their way into the physical world, and due to their nature, cannot be stopped by human weaponry, leaving them to run free and devour all of mankind....

That's where Dreamers like you come in.

Some especially gifted humans can freely move between the Outercast, Innertia, and Dreamcast while fully conscious. These humans, known as Dreamers, are recruited by the Dream King* to eliminate Nightmare Espers that trespass into the Outercast. They have power that can manifest at any time, in any reality, that allows them to combat the Nightmare Espers. And luckily, they aren't alone. Dream Companions*, Dream Espers born from the minds of their Dreamers, accompany them on their missions so that together, we can keep both the Dreamcast and the Outercast safe from harm.

Now you know the story, Dreamer. Will you join us?

EXTRA INFO
____________________

Dreamcast: The reality where Dream and Nightmare Espers reside. It functions as the "Earth" of the Dream Espers, where they all live peacefully. On a seperate "Earth" exists the Nightmares.

Outercast: The reality we live in. Needs no further explanation.

Innertia: The "melting pot" of the two realities, where the Dreamcast and Outercast mix together. When humans sleep, their subconscious drifts into Innertia, and when they make contact with a Dream or Nightmare Esper, the successions known as Dreams and Nightmares are created.

Espers: Espers are the inhabitants of Dreamcast, and are either good, Dream Espers or bad, Nightmare Espers.

Dream King: The ruler of the Dream Espers and the strongest Esper in Dreamcast aside from the Nightmare King. A new King is crowned when the old one passes away, and due to their long life spans, Kings are crowned roughly 100,000 years apart from each other. The current Dream King, Lorei, is a woman who stubbornly refuses to be called Queen, though nobody knows why. She is very smart and very kind, but has a bit of a temper too.

Nightmare King: The ruler of the Nightmare Espers and the strongest Esper in Dreamcast aside from the Dream King. Unlike how the Dream King is crowned, the Nightmare King is crowned by killing all other Nightmares after the title in a gruesome battle. The next King is the one who kills the previous King, so the title changes hands a bit more often that the Dream King title does. The current Nightmare King, Nero, is an arrogant and evil man who is a notorious sucker for pretty women. He is ruthless in battle despite his perverted nature, and is just as cunning as Lorei.

The Zera Seal: A seal created by "The Creator" that seperates The Dream, Nightmare, and Human worlds. This seal prevents Dream Espers and Nightmare Espers from directly fighting each other. Legend has it that it has another purpose, but nobody knows if that's true, or what that purpose is.

The Creator: A mysterious being who was responsible both for the creation and the seperation of the three races. Their wherabouts are unknown.

Lillian shot her head up and towards Lal as she entered the room.

"Finally," Lillian muttered under her breath, unbelievably glad to have an excuse to occupy her mind with something else. Lillian stood up quickly, eager to get a move on, but held back from sprinting towards the door and waited for Alexi to get up and join her.

Mel watched the confusion unfurl itself around her as Tobin left the room for an extended period of time, something she never did without reason.

"Zap," she whispered. "What is going on?" Mel asked, all her chipper attitude seemingly gone from her voice and demeanor and replaced with confusion and worry.

And then Lal burst in the room. Mel looked around the room to see if anyone had any idea what was happening. She ran up to where Lal was ushering them all through the door.

"What the hell is going on?" she whispered to Lal, careful to make sure none of the initiates could hear the alarm in her voice.

"This can't be good," Alexi muttered, a knot forming at the thought of whatever they were being called for. Unlike Astennu-Rah or Lillian he still didn't know what his power was, or even if he had one to begin with. If it was an emergency he'd be utterly useless. He didn't want to be useless anymore...."This really can't be good at all." He reluctantly followed Lillian, his hands shaking-no his whole body shaking-with every step.

Zap tensed up as Lal started to escort them. He immediately began thinking about that day, so wrapped up in his thoughts that ge didn't even register Mel's words until she ran over to Lal. "Tch, damn it," He cursed under his breath as he following her.

"Hey maybe we are all getting a present," Lillian said to Alexi. Her comment was a mix between a joke and a cruel use of sarcasm. "Sorry, I'm just stressed at whatever is about to happen," Lillian said as she shook her head. "Anyway," she started again. "I'm sure it'll be fine," she said for her sake as much as his.

Mel looked back at Zap who had fallen behind and was clearly distressed. Mel had a guess at what was bringing him down, and images of that day filled her mind. Mel slipped away from Lal and sank back to where Zap was. "Look," she whispered to him softly so the other initiates wouldn't hear. "I'm sure it won't be like last time. Tobin isn't stupid, she's not gonna take in a bunch of untrained initiates into a war. It will be okay," Mel rested her hand comfortingly on Zap's shoulder. She had been friends with Zap for a long time, and seeing how the last time had destroyed him, she hated seeing him upset, especially from that.
over a year ago Firebird06721 said…
Cora's gut burned with shame. The first time had been unpreventable, but she swore never to do anything like that again. And here she was. She was following orders yes, but would her loyalty to her king outway her loyalty to her initiates? She was supposed to protect them. Their lives depended on her.

Lal looked at Mel her voice staying calming as usual, not betraying the worry she too felt. "You've been called back to the throne room, that's all I've been told." Lal was aware of the worry hanging in the air around her, but considering she knew as little as they did, she ignored it. As the group reached the vast doors, two guards pulled them slowly open.
over a year ago TAIKAMODO said…
Lorei's eyes softened as the group entered for the second time that day, though it was with more regret than her generally calm countenance showed. The boy, Alexi, looked to be absolutely terrified, with Lillian attempting to calm him down. Astennu looked calm, albeit somewhat isolated. Zap and Mel looked concerned, Zap especially. Hoshi, much like his partner, didn't seem too bothered by anything. They weren't ready for what she was about to send them into. She could already tell, and she was sure Tobin could too. But she really had no choice. "I'm sure you're wondering what I called you here for so I'll save you the formalities," She began, hands folding beneath her chin, "You've been assigned an emergency rescue mission into enemy territory." The silence that followed was suffocating, not even a pen would dare to drop and break it, and she waited in the silence for their reactions.
over a year ago grey_skies said…
The silence was deafening to Lillian's ears until her head suddenly filled with the racing thoughts of about a dozen different minds. She couldn't control them, she couldn't tune them out, she thought her head might explode. After only a few minutes of silence, Lillian broke it.

"Can everyone just stop thinking for a second?" Lillian screamed before turning to Lorei. "King Lorei, Sir, I apologize if I am being rude or disrespectful but look, I can not hear my own thoughts over everyone else in my head, there is no way I will last longer than a minute in enemy territory! We are all going to die! None of us can handle this except our companions!" Lillian's head spun and she suddenly felt overwhelmed and lightheaded. A sense of claustrophobia took over her as she noticed the doors shut behind her.

Lillian flinched as Mel put her hand on her shoulder in effort to calm her down.

"You might want to try and calm down a little," Mel whispered tentatively.

"No!" Lillian snapped at Mel before dropping her voice. "I'm sorry, I just, no, we aren't ready for this, it's obvious," Lillian whispered so just Mel could hear her. She turned her attention back to Lorei, her temper flaring again as her apparent fate sunk in. "But our supposed "King" is sending us all into our inevitable death. So it was nice meeting you guys, too bad it didn't last long," Lillian practically spat at Lorei. She felt the entire room watching her and she waited for any sort of response from anyone. Even Mel was shocked into silence.

Francis was kind of taken aback by this girl's sudden outburst. She reminded him of Chandler a little bit, which made him laugh quietly to himself. "Hey, it's ok kid." He finished the rest in his head, crouching down to her level so he wouldn't scare the poor girl. Gentle, he had to be gentle with her or else she would be afraid. Kinda like Chandler again. You're a mind reader right? Focus on me ok? Listen I know it seems like much, but all she's asking you to do is help me get a friend out, that's it- Hey hey hey, breathe in and out kid. "You gonna be ok, kid?"

Instead of being angry at the guy in front of her crouching down to her height, she hated to admit that she was slightly comforted by it. His thoughts forced themselves to the front of her mind, scaring her slightly as to how he did that. She inhaled and exhaled as she was told before speaking again.

"I-I don't know how to control it," Lillian said quietly so only he could hear her. Her hands shook slightly at her sides. "And whatever we have to fight over there, they aren't going to come up to me individually so i can hear their thoughts, at least i don't think," Lillian told him, fear was clear in her voice.

She heard him ask her if she's was going to be okay, and she could barely tell the difference between his voice in her head and his voice out loud.

"I, uh, I'm not sure," was all Lillian could manage to answer that with.

Lorei didn't even flinch when Lillian had her outburst. She'd almost expected it in a sense, though she assumed the shy one would've been the first to explode. The girl was completely justified and if she was in a position to agree she would've, but that sadly wasn't the case. Before Lorei could say a word though, Francis of all people intervened on Lillian's behalf, and she was actually impressed by him. He was still a bit unruly and he wasn't completely on her good side, but he was starting to get there. Right as she thought that, Alexi caught her attention when without saying a word he grabbed Lillian's wrist, just above her hand.

"I.....I'm scared..." He whispered, still somewhat trembling, "I'm more....of a coward than any of you. I'm nowhere near ready for this, I'll screw up and get us all killed and I'm sure someone will blame themselves.....for my weakness." His hand slid down to hers and as if he had lost his prior phobia of touching people, he actually squeezed her hand slightly, though he didn't look away from the floor, not once. "But it's okay, y'know? To...to be afraid, fear's human and we can't help it. I'm terrified, and I can feel your fear too, but...." He still didn't look up from the floor as he paused. " But we're....we're in this together. So it'll be okay." He let her hand go after that, still not looking up from the floor until he finally dared to meet the surprised eyes of Lorei.

"Y-Your Highness," He sounded terrified, and he was. He sounded like he would break down and cry any moment now. "Please," He was shakint, too, shaking with pure, primal fear. "Give us the details of our mission." His eyes though. They weren't afraid. They were steady, piercing, determined even with the fear written all over his face. Lorei stared at him speechless. She hadn't expected anything like that from him.

Lillian flinched when Alexi grabbed her hand. She looked down to where Alexi had grabbed her hand until he released her hand. She couldn't help but think of the fact that the last time someone held her hand, it was Jacob. Once Alexi finished talking, Lillian focused her attention on Francis who was still in front of her. He was being gentle with her, something she didn't want cleft anyone to do since she got here. She hated to admit that it was a nice change from Tobins intensity. She offered him a smile of appreciation, before she picked up on everyone else's thoughts again. They all came into her mind at once, swarming her brain. She barely had any room left to wonder how he had forced his thoughts clearly into her mind.

Lillian backed up against the wall, holding her head in her hands. It felt like her head might explode with all the thoughts overcrowding it. She slid her back down the wall, still cradling her head.

"God make it stop," she muttered more angrily than desperate.
over a year ago TAIKAMODO said…
Lorei's eyes immediately shot to Lillian as the girl backed herself against the wall, seemingly still unable to control her ability. It brought the King back to another time, in the same office, a different girl leaning on the same wall, face buried in her hands. Lorei shook her head to clear the thoughts. She could reminisce later. "Divine Order: Constrict!" With those words, glowing white chains emerged from the walls and floor, wrapping around Lillian for a moment before fading away. Waiting for a moment, Lorei finally explained herself.

"That," She began, "Was Divine Order: Constrict. It surpresses your Dream Ability, as long as you desire it, with that seal on your hand." She was referring to the golden chain symbol now emblazoned in Lillian's right hand. "That will calm your head aches until you are ready to handle it." Alexi stared in awe at the King now, having witnessed a bit of her power firsthand. She truly was a powerful ruler. Returning his attention to Lillian though, the blonde turned to the mind reader.

"Are you feeling better?" He asked uncertainty.
over a year ago grey_skies said…
Lillian visibly flinched as chains wrapped around her body for a moment before releasing her with a mark on her hand. Lillian shook her head to regather herself and looked at Lorei as she spoke. Lillian sighed with relief when Lorei explain that she wouldn't have to face her horrible head aches anymore, at least for now. She stood up slowly and turned to Alexi as he spoke to her.

"I, uh, think so," she said uncertainly. She held Alexi's gaze for a moment before turning back to Lorei.

"I'm sorry, Your Highness," Lillian said softly, but loud enough for the king to hear. "But thank you," she added, looking at the king expectantly.
over a year ago TAIKAMODO said…
"Don't apologize, it's natural to struggle early on with your power," Lorei waved off her apology, though again she found herself thinking back to all those years ago, when that girl was....She shook her head. No, now wasn't the time. Meanwhile, her comment had spurred Alexi's own thoughts. He was the only one who hadn't gotten their power revealed. If he even had one, he added. Knowing how useless he was, he would be the only one who didn't have a power of their own.

"So without further interruption, allow me to finish explaining the situation. I'll keep this brief, I trust Tobin to fill in the details. Your mission is to infiltrate a base in Aracia, a city near the outskirts of Nightmare Kingdom, and rescue a girl named Chandler. Are we clear?" She finished, and Alexi felt his legs grow weak just thinking about it. Enemy territory, a rescue mission, he was horrified. His chest hurt, and he was sure he was going to die. But he couldn't let fear control him anymore. He needed power, to be stronger. He needed power that washed away fear.

"I'm ready," Alexi answered with uncharacteristic confidence, despite his knees trembling and his face sweating. This girl, Chandler, she needed their help. He couldn't be a coward when lives were on the line.

Thousands of doubts and worries flooded Lillian's mind instantly as she thought of fighting. She smiled at the kings generosity and forgiveness. Lillian studied Francis across from her and the king as they both looked nostalgic at certain times- often afterward interacting with her.

"I'm ready, too," Lillian said after Alexi, not missing a beat. She looked over Alexi and smiled before returning her gaze to the King. "But, if its not too much to ask, id like to know how to turn my telepathy back on for the fight, i swear I'll stop complaining," Lillian said, her eyes trained on the king.

(Yo sky, quick question; Do you have anything planned with Lillian's Grandparents?)

"It's quite simple actually," Lorei focused her attention on the fledgling mind reader, forcing herself to hide the smile that creeped up when Lillian asked that question. She was the spitting image of her, all right."While the original variant of Constrict can only be deactivated by me, the variant I placed on you can be deactivated and reactivated with a simple recitement of the phrase, 'Divine Order: Release'."
over a year ago grey_skies said…
(Um no??? Do you???)

Lillian disregarded the slight hint of a smile forming on the kings face before it was forced away.

"Okay. Thank you, Your Highness. I'm ready to go," Lillian said as she readjusted her stance to make herself seem taller.
over a year ago TAIKAMODO said…
(Sort of, nothing super important, just some background stuff with Lorei. It won't be brought up until later)

"Great, then you will leave for Aracia whenever Tobin's ready," Lorei decided with a smile, lightening the mood a little bit. She would definitely have to get to know Lillian better when she got back. The resemblance was truly amazing.

Alexi turned to Lillian, still a little shaken. "Are you sure you're okay now?" He asked. He kept thinking about how his own power would work, if he had one. Would he be able to control it? Would it hurt someone?

(Ahhhhh okay well pm me if you want to talk about that more indepth)

Lillian studied the kings smile closely, as it was the first time she had truly seen a smile on her face. There was a certain emotion behind the kings eyes that Lillian couldn't quite place. Confusion? Interest? Alexis voice broke Lillian out of her daze.

"Im fine," lillian said almost subconsciously.

"Okay, well in that case," Alexi bowed his head slightly, looking at the ground, "I'm sorry for earlier." He gestured to her hand, the one he'd grabbed a few minutes ago. "It was an impulse, I didn't mean to." His face started turning red again, and Lorei couldn't hide the giggle that escaped frrom her lips at his shyness. This group really was something else. Even Zap, who'd been quiet since they walked in, smiled a little.

Lillian smiled to herself as Alexi began apologizing to her. She heard the king laugh and let out a small laugh herself. She looked around and noticed Zap smiling too, something she hadn't yet seen.

"Alexi, you don't have to explain everything you do," Lillian started. She reached down and grabbed his hand.

"Look, it's okay," she said before letting go.

Usually Tobin would've snapped at the chaos her initiates were causing, but she was almost numb to it- still lost in her own mind many any way to get them out alive. She fought away flashbacks and the fears, the doubts, the regrets that came along. She was going to need her full attention.

"We leave now." Cora announced. "No more time will be wasted." Lal helped gather the group as Cora led them quickly out the exit, where she paused briefly to speak to them.

"Lillian," she barked, addressing the red-head first, "if you ever speak to your King like that again, I will personally make sure to have you suspended from any duties, and I will work you until you can't walk, and then I will work you harder. Understand?" Harsh, as she knew, and Cora knew what a struggle control was for telepath. But while King Lori could be understanding to a breakdown, nightmares would not be. Considering the were headed to face them now, fear was the quickest way to keep Lillian alive. "Astennu. You're a promising recruit, but you get cocky. Do not overestimate yourself. Now, or ever. Am I clear?" She turned to Alexi last, she was impressed with the little show of bravery he had given, but he didn't even know his power. Cora was worried most for him. Knowing she had to be just a little gentler, she spoke again. "Alexi. The bravery you showed back there was an improvement. When we go in there though, there's not going be anyone to hold your hand. If I see so much as a lip quiver from you now, you are finished with me. I won't risk your fear putting other's at risk. Do you understand?"

Lillian was eager to follow Tobin outside of the room. She hung back in the group to walk with Alexi, but froze when Tobin's condescending voice reached her ears. The hairs on the back of her neck rose as Tobin's threat registered in her mind. Lillian couldn't help but let a slightly audible sigh of relief escape her lips when she wasn't the only one being reprimanded. She turned her head to look at Alexi as Tobin directed her anger at him. She prayed that his lip didn't quiver right then and there, although she wouldn't blame him. He was her closest friend in this so far, she needed someone to get her though this alternate life. Someone she could trust, she couldn't have that taken away before their first battle. Hell, she couldn't have it taken away before their first night.

"I understand," Lillian said when Tobin finished, hoping she was supposed to respond. "My deepest apologies to both of you," she finished.

(WELCOME BACK TO THE LAND OF THE POPPING FANS, WINGED CREATURE CLOAKED IN FLAMES)

(Yeah, but I have an Idea actually, if 6 doesn't mind me taking some creative liberties)

Alexi flinched as hard as he ever had when Tobin reprimanded him in that harsh, general type way he had only known Tobin to do.

"There's not going to be anyone to hold your hand."

He knew that, but hearing it out loud made it all the more terrifying. He had to be strong, all by himself. They were going into a real life battle, he couldn't let himself fall behind and die. But he didn't know what he could do. He was too afraid to fight anything, and even if he wasn't, he had no power. He couldn't do anything. He was useless. He was always so damn useless. He couldn't even be a decent human shield, he was much too thin. He barely ever ate at school since the cafeteria food upser his stomach and the bullies loved to use his clothes for napkins. He couldn't do anything, he'd screw up and get everyone killed no matter how brave he was.

"I see so much as a lip quiver from you now, you're finished with me."

He bit his lip then, he bit down as hard as his jaw would allow, to prevent it from quivering like he knew it would've. His whole body was on the verge of trembling under her harsh gaze, let alone his lip. He couldn't help it, his body responded to stress through shaking. He'd seen physical and mental therapists and none of them could ever help him. He remembered one therapist, David-He let Alexi call him by his first name-who'd diagnosed it as emotionally responsive fidgeting. He'd told Alexi to do something painful, bite his lip or pinch himself. The momentary pain calmed him down somehow. He did that now, even though the act caused him to bleed and he could taste the iron in his mouth. But he wouldn't show the pain, or the nearly overwhelming fear he felt.

"I won't risk your fear putting others at risk."

He couldn't endanger anybody else with his fear, he knew that. He knew if he hesitated with fear even for a moment, he could be killed instantly. He could get Astennu or Zap or Mel, or Lillian, killed too. He couldn't let that happen. "I-I understand," He replied quietly, staring down at the ground. He hadn't noticed it before but it had a pearly gloss to it. The whole room did, really. But he didn't dare look around the room, fearing he'd meet the eyes of Tobin burning a hole through his soul. "I'll try not to be a burden."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"God damn it, get off of me you halfwit!" He shouted, shoving one of his nameless goons away from him. He was almost human in appearance, but he had long, pointed ears and a pointed nose, with sickly green skin and demonic red eyes. "The human got away!" He sat up straight in his seat, a rather fluffy red sofa with heart shaped pillows, or rather what was left of them, strewn about the Night Club-like room. The goon he'd thrown off kneeled hurriedly, bowing his head.
"My apologies, Lord Corvas." Corvas scowled.
"The human got away because of you stupid bastards!" He pointed his ring finger at the goon, and the goon melted in flames only a moment later. "I didn't even get to play with her like I wanted. Her juicy thighs, that perfectly perky little ass, her silky skin, that adorable doll face. And those knockers, oh the things I wanted to do to that human...." Corvas licked his lips, and his tongue slithered around like a snake's. He melted another goon who was recovering on the floor. "I want her....I want her now!" He rose from the sofa, eyes glistening with lust. Two other goons appeared at his sides, one with blue hair and one with orange. "Draye, Silva, we're finding her and bringing her back. I won't let my new toy get away."
Lillian shook her head slightly as she noticed Alexi biting down on his lip hard enough to draw blood, and she was shocked when he didn't. Despite the headaches that came along with, Lillian missed the feeling of everyone's voices in her head. They kept her distracted from her own
"Divine order: Release," Lillian whispered to herself. A pang shot through her head as other voices filled the space in her head. She kept her ground and fought every instinct telling her to stop moving and just fall over then a d there. She remained standing, determined to learn how to control her power.
How would he get there instantly, or if he didn't, why wouldn't anyone stop him considering he's a human in the capital city of the Dream Kingdom? Plus Chandler coming back immediately is really anticlimactic. I figured her running away, passing out near the outside of Aracia, so there's still a chase for her from both sides(Dream v Nightmare), and then either getting help from some Nightmare before being captured again or skipping any filler stuff and just getting captured again during the time it takes Tobin's team to reach Corvas's hideout would be easier for everyone to do, but don't let me deter your creative vision 6)
(High key been like thirty years so I'm probably out of practice, but I'm gonna give this my best shot and see how this works out)
(And since I am about 99% percent sure nobody is alive and going to reply to me, I'll be taking a few liberties with continuing this off its 8 month Hiatus)
"Li-" Alexi stopped short, planning to talk to her before his brow furrowed in concern and his sentence came up short. She had an odd, pained, almost constipated expression on her face that couldn't have been normal. The thought crossed his mind of her powers acting up again, but King Lorei has just turned those off, hadn't she? She couldn't still be getting the headaches, right? Then again, he didn't really quite get how any of this stuff worked yet. Maybe the headache was just an aftershock of her powers rather than a direct affect, so they continued even after her powers were effectively turned off. He had no clue, but her expression was concerning, to say the least. "Lillian, a-are you okay?" He slightly cursed under his breath. He'd stuttered again, and he hated doing that. But his stutter could wait. He had a lot more important things, and people, to think about.
