Can anyone tell me if the books really resemble the tv serie or it´s just slightly similar??

Well,so far I've read the first book and its not exactly the same, but they do take out mais details from the show. Like in the book it said aria was in iceland for 3 years and in the show it says she was there for only a year. Differences like that. Hope I helped! :)
