"Smile and wave, boys, Smile and wave."
Remember that? The magical moment when you first met Skipper, Kowalski, Private, and Rico? What about when you discovered the new spin off show on Nick? How you laughed at the jokes and Skippers paranoia? Or watching Kowalski and Rico's developing characters, King Julien's crazy antics, Mort's obsession with DA FEET, Maurice eating those bad leechee nuts, Marlene and Skipper interacting alone for the first time, creating one the most popular pairings? Remember the joy you felt when you found a whole site on fanpop dedicated to your beloved PoM characters? The times you laughed at another persons's comment franc, screencap, etc?
It doesn’t have to be a memory. The site has problems, but it’s not just fangirls (and that is improving already) It’s lines being drawn over which character is best, which one you hate, dislike, and which pairing you love. Its people lashing out at each other over differences of opinion, or counter-attacking jerks who decide to go round spamming.
But, not all hope is lost. We are united. We are a One fangroup. Our differences are what make us unique. Kowalski fangirls cheer on our favorito scientist (applies to other fangirls and their obsessions), Skilene and other pairing freaks make entertaining fanfictions, and aleatório people exclaiming things in all caps every once in a while can break an awkward silence and make for an entertaining RPG-ing on a forum.
And when Julien, Blowhole, Skipper and the Team when they come on, even if you don’t think they are "real", isn’t it fun to at least pretend? You feel like a kid at natal time, when you recognize the handwriting that says SANTA on your present as your Mom's, but you ignore it for the sake of you little brother and the fun of Christmas.
This site is for Fun, for the unification and support of one of the few clean, wholesome and witty shows left in existence. No matter our differences, we are all ONE group, a small Internet family. Occasionally we will be bound to have disagreements, but, really, is it worth it to cuss out somebody about it, when could be making a fanart/fanfiction or leitura a fanfiction or watching an episode of PoM for the 100th time? I’d rather watch “The Hidden” for the bazillionth time than go around insulting other fãs for not agreeing with me or spamming on my stuff. It’s called being mature and getting over it, and if you ignore those people, or even better, denunciar them, they tend to go away.
It's not too late. I know that the good people on this site who truly amor PoM outnumber any jerks that might be on here. Let's get back to the way things should be, a fansite with fãs that the penguins (and suppporting characters) would be proud to call theirs.
We can stop the anger, treat each other with respect as fellow fans, and keep this site a clean and fun place for all fãs to be. We only have to follow one simple rule.
amor thy Neighbor (or fellow fan) as thyself.
