Well, really the answer is yes AND no...

No because at the end it does say in the epilogue that he still has flashbacks and needs to hold on to something (like his violent/angry flashes are coming back like they did when he was injected with the Trackerjacker venom). But like someone else said, it could just be a form of PTS disorder from dealing with what he did in the Games.

And yes because ultimately he does realize his feelings for Katniss and he finds out that he does amor her. SPOILER: They end up together and have children-a boy and a girl. So, he had to overcome the venom in order to realize his feelings for Katniss.

But again, like someone else said, it's really an opinion of whether or not he TRULY overcame everything and got back to "normal". I've read the ending several times and while the "You amor me. Real or not real?" "Real" part is cute... I always got the sense that Peeta was never back to himself-the Peeta we knew from the beginning.

You should really read Mockingjay-It's very good :)

I just finished the book 2 days atrás and I can't stop thinking about that too. The book was good but it was missing a few details that was crucial. Peeta was one of the reasons I kept reading, I amor Peeta because how he is so kind and he's just plain loveable but getting to the last book I nearly was going to throw it on the ground and cry.
As people say it's a matter of opinion if he's back to normal self I say yes. He drastically recovers from the hi-jacking but the author should include how he recovers & does he get back to normal.
Okay in my opinion he does return to normal overtime and the hi-jacking has less occurrences.
Reasons I think that -
1) Katniss fell in amor with the old Peeta so he has to be back to normal if she marries him. I think Peeta gets his charms, coração & personality back for Katniss & him to 'grow back togther'. But isn't back to his full normal self since the Hunger Games has changed him as a person, leaving him normal but not normal. If that makes sense.

3) At the end Katniss says she chooses the dandelion. The dandelion symbolizes Peeta when they first met. So why would she choose him if he wasn't his normal Dandelion personality self? So that conclcudes that Peeta does get better at the end and becomes normal self again like he was in the first book. Well not exactly like the first book, his personality and coração stays the same but I don't think he'll get over the tramas from the Hunger Games and Capitol.

2) As the time goes por the hi-jacking gets better he doesn't want to kill Katniss. So if it gets gradually better overtime 15 years from the incident . He shouldn't be having the flashes.

I really do believe overtime Peeta gets back to normal. His coração and personality is back and nothing can change that. But not his life is not EXACTLY how it was in the beginning since the Hunger Games really impacted on Katniss and Peeta's lives.

So in my opinion yes he returns to his normal self but what really changed is his life. The Hunger Games affected his life but not his charming loveable personality we all fell in amor with in the first book.

Sorry if this was kind of long and please don't mind some grammatical errors.

No peeta never goes back to normal, he still has flashbacks once in a while. It said that on page 388 in mockingjay. I really wanted him to go back to normal so he can be the romantic, selfless, loving, devoted person he was in the hunger games, and in catching fire. <3 <3 <3 i will "ALWAYS" and forever amor peeta <3 <3 <3

Well, I think that is a little bit of a matter of opinion. I mean, he definately gets way better after they rescue him from the capitol, but weather he is completely back to his old self, I cant say. Before the epilogue Katniss mentions that he sometimes still has flashbacks, but that sounds mais like post traumatic stress than the hijacking. In the end I would say that Peeta, like the rest of the chracters, is changed, but that he basically recovers from the hijacking.

Not really. I mean, he stops trying to kill Katniss, and she and the others help him with the "Real or not real" game, but he still has flashbacks of things that didn't happen.

Yes and no.... I mean well.... its hard to say really.

In the end it talks about Peeta sometimes gripping the chair tightly because he wants to kill Katniss at that moment. But after they have kids Peeta is normal again. Meaning he dosent want to kill her any more. So I guess I the right answer is yes he is hack to normal. I think.....

I believe that it is how you choose to take in the epilogue, about how you choose to channel it into your thoughts. I think that Katniss and Peeta end up scarred and mentally ill, but they're together and happy. I think that will suffice! You can't blame them for being scarred, think of all the tragic things they've seen and been through, of course it will cause damage! But think of it this way; neither of them will fully recover, but that's okay, because they it shouldn't be expected and gives the book a lift from being dull and predictable. They are together, that's the main thing:-)

This is one of the biggest concerns of the hunger games. Obviusly most people amor peeta and don't want to see anything bad happen to him. But without this problem happening the book would be 20x less intresting.

Now memory refresher:
Peeta was hijacked por the Capitol while the remaining players were rescued during the big war. He was tortured for months por getting trator jactor veneom and all his good memories with katniss changed with evil ones. They would let him go out to murder katniss.

Answer:
This is a matter of opinion but I think he wasn't FULLY back to himself but he give him credit for remembering that he does amor katniss because this is known to be practically impossible.

SPOLIER ALERT:
Katniss obviusly has feelings for both gale and peeta but here is a derect qoute from her:

"What I need to survive is not Gale's fire, kindled with rage and hatred. I have plenty of fogo myself. What I need is the dandelion in the spring. The bright yellow that means rebirth instead of destruction. The promise that life can go on, no matter how bad our losses. That it can be good again. And only Peeta can give me that." (27.62)

Peeta closely comes to himself again and realizes they do amor eachother. They get married and have two children a boy and girl.

In the end, pretty much. He has to hold on to a chair when he has flashbacks, much like someonewith PTSD. Even Katniss has to make up her own game to hold onto her sanity. Many veteans have flashbacks but rturn almost to their normals selves. This is what Collins points in the Epilogue when she says Peeta says we'll be ok. So yes over time he returns to nearly his normal self.
