Erin couldn't sleep. She knew that Fritz was all right, but his brush with death made her realize that he isn't immortal. What would she and her mates do if they did lose Fritz? New Religion without Fritz would be like Texas A&M without Reveille or the universidade of Georgia without Uga. Of course, there are big differences. There have been several Reveilles and several Ugas. As far as Erin and her mates are concerned, there is only ONE Fritz, and that's how it will always be. Finally tired of tossing and turning, Erin got out of bed. She needed to get these feelings off her chest. She went to Paul's bedroom to talk with him. She gently tapped him on the shoulder and calmly asked, "Paul, are you awake?" He let out a muffled groan. "I am now." he murmured faintly. "What are you doing up?" She said, "I can't sleep, Paul." He asked, "Why? What's wrong, Erin?" She said, "I was just thinking about Fritz and what we would do if we did lose him." Paul said, "Erin, Dr. Wright said that Fritz is going to be fine. On topo, início of that, he's not going to die anytime soon. He's only five years old. Chinooks can live up to fifteen years." Erin said, "But Paul, death is not a respecter of age. You know what happened to our childhood best friends." He said, "Yeah." She then said, "When Fritz is well enough, we need to bring in a new dog. I know you talked about getting another dog after Nunavut passed in March." Paul said, "Yeah, but where are we going to find another Chinook? It's not that popular of a breed." Erin remarked, "Who said we had to get another Chinook?" He said, "We'll discuss this later. Try to get some sleep, all right?" She said, "All right." She went back to bed. The seguinte morning, the members of New Religion were awake, waiting for the call that Fritz could come home. They received the call, and Fritz was able to come home. The veterinary technician said that he had eaten and was feeling much better. When Erin, Paul, Carl, and Lola arrived at the veterinary clinic, Fritz was pulling on his leash. His leg was still a bit swollen, and he still wasn't putting weight on it, but his strength was back and he looked much better. On the way back home, Fritz periodically licked Erin's and Paul's faces. He then moved to the front to lick Lola's hand. After they arrived home, Carl got down on his knees, and Fritz licked Carl's face. The foursome relaxed on the couch, and Fritz proceeded to lie down at their feet and sleep.

Lola and Her Mates
One day, I decided to invite the girls I helped with homework to a party. I also invited Erin, Paul, and Carl. They were always so nice to me, so I didn't see any reason not to invite them. As I was getting ready for the party, I heard the doorbell ring. I went to answer the door. Erin, Paul, and Carl were standing there. I said, "Hi. You're a little early, but come on in." We waited for my other guests to show up, but they never did. I was very sad that they hurt me like that. I said, "I knew they only liked me because I help them with homework." Erin said, "People who truly...

Making New Friends
When I was in high school, I moved to Pine Grove. When I arrived, the popular girls eyed me like a pack of hungry lobos seeing a stray sheep. Amazingly enough, they had no intention to hurt me physically. They asked me to help them with their homework. Surprisingly, they actually did their part. I guess they were afraid I wouldn't help them if they didn't. One day, during my junior year, I saw a girl trip and fall in the hallway. I said, "I'm going to make sure she's okay." The ring leader of the popular girls said, "All right. Go make sure your fellow dork is okay. You're...

The Bullying
Even though I was the nurturer, not everyone liked me very much. I got bullied quite a bit. One day, some bullies roubou my glasses and locked me in the janitor's closet. I have been terrified of the dark for a long time, especially since I can't see well without my glasses. Eventually, the janitor let me out, and I managed to get my glasses back. There was once when I saw a classmate fall. I asked, "Are you okay?" She said, "Get away from me, you dork!" I felt hurt. I said, "I'm sorry for caring." I confided in my grandmother during my saddest times. One day, I came to her covered...
