Jane had spent much of the dia crying. She was tired from all the crying that she had done throughout the day. She decided to lie down and close her eyes for a few minutes. She soon fell asleep. Meanwhile, Paula decided to drop por to see if Jane was okay. Jane's mother answered the door. Paula said, "I'm here to check on Jane. I sent her some text messages, and she never replied." Jane's mother said, "She's in her bedroom. Come on in, Paula." Paula went upstairs to Jane's bedroom. Paula knocked on the door, but there was no answer. The door was unlocked, so she went on in. Jane didn't stir as Paula neared her. Paula gently woke Jane. Jane asked, "Paula, what are you doing here?" Paula replied, "I came to see if you were all right. I sent you some text messages, but you never replied to them." Jane said, "I'm sorry. I just didn't feel like texting." Paula said, "Your voice sounds strange. Do you have a cold?" Jane said, "No, I've been crying." Paula hugged Jane and said, "Please tell me what's wrong." Jane said, "Nobody loves me." Paula wasn't normally the one with the witty retorts, but this time, she came up with a good one. "I wasn't aware that my name was Nobody. Thanks for the update." This made Jane smile. She said, "You really do amor me, don't you?" Paula said, "Of course I do. You're my best friend." Jane said, "But nobody loves me romantically." Paula said, "Someone will someday. Any guy would be lucky to have you." Jane said, "Thanks, Paula." After a pause, Jane said, "Ow! My eyes are burning." Paula asked, "What's wrong with them?" Jane said, "I was only going to close my eyes for a few minutes, but I ended up sleeping in my contact lenses." Paula said, "I didn't know you wear contacts." Jane said, "I'm blind as a bat without them. I originally wore glasses, but I switched to contact lenses right before we met. I'm considering switching back to glasses, even though I look hideous in them." She took out her contact lenses and put on her glasses and said, "See what I mean?" Paula said, "I think you look great." Jane said, "Yeah, right." Paula said, "You do. I think you look really intelligent." Jane said, "Well, you'd be the first, but thanks." Paula said, "You're welcome. What do you say we go somewhere? I think you could use a change of scenery." Jane said, "I'd like that."

Carl finished telling his story. John said, "This was a very touching story. I understand what you've been through." He wiped a tear from his eye. Peter had been crying, too. He said, "You're living a good life, mate." Stan, who rarely cried, was also crying. He said, "Yes, especially compared to what you've been through." Allen said, "I'm really glad you are living a good life." Erin and Lola hugged Carl. They admired how Valente he was for telling his story. Erin, of course, sort of knew what he went through. After all, she had been abused por her grandfather. Paul placed a hand on Carl's shoulder and said, "You're a Valente man, Carl. You're a Valente man." Carl said, "Thanks for supporting me while I told my story. I'm glad that things have turned out for the better."
