EXCLUSIVE: Established stage actress Audrey Brisson has joined the cast of Starz’s hit period drama
for its upcoming second season, TVWise has learned. The 13 episode second season is now in production in Scotland for a 2016 premiere on Starz.
Brisson will play Sister Angelique, a nun at L’Hopital Des Anges in Paris. As fans of the book series will know, L’Hopital Des Anges is a key location, with Claire Fraser (Caitriona Balfe) volunteering – as well as ultimately being treated – at the hospital in the second book. For now this is a guest starring role, but I’m told it has the potential to become a recurring one.
s second season, which will run “at least” 13 episodes, is based on
novel series, and follows Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire (Caitriona Balfe) in Paris, France, as they attempt to prevent the Jacobite uprisings, which Claire knows will end in disaster.
was developed for television by Ronald D. Moore and stars Caitriona Balfe, Sam Heughan, Tobias Menzes, Graham McTavish, Gary Lewis, Duncan Lacroix, Annette Badland, Lotte Verbeek and Stephen Walters also star. The drama series is produced by Tall Ship Productions, Story Mining & Supply Company and Left Bank Pictures in association with Sony Pictures Television.
I am on MANY Facebook groups for fans of the Outlander books, and the overwhelming opinion is that we LOVE the TV series and are so happy and grateful for the respectful way Ron D. Moore and everyone affiliated with the show has treated the source material.
