Sitting in class seguinte to Niall felt like a dream come true. I think it was mostly because he was actually here, and here for quite a while before he'd be leaving again. If I was lucky, I'd have a chance to audition my group to come on tour with them. I was completely spaced out when Ms. Bergese called on me. "Kate?" she called. "Earth to Kate!" I shook my head. "Sorry, Ms. Bergese." I apologized, quickly feeling embarassed por having everyone staring at me. "Do you still play the guitar?" she asks. I nod. "Yes ma'am." Ms. Bergese smiled and asked, "Will you play for us?" I nodded shyly, stood up and selected a beautiful acousitc guitar. I felt Niall's gaze in my back as I headed to the front of the room. "I've actually been working on a new song." I tell the class shyly. My eyes meet Niall's and he smiles. "Whenever you're ready, Miss Summers." Ms. Bergese smiles. I take a deep breath and begin to play a B minor chord. I hum along with the lyrics I had written, but don't sing them. After I finished, the class claps and the sino rings. "Good job, Kate!" my teacher praises. "Thanks, Ms. Bergese." I put the violão, guitarra away, and walk to Niall who is holding my books. "Thanks." I say, trying to take them. "No, no. Let me carry them for you." he says shyly. I nod and say, "Alright. What class do you have?" Niall opens the door for me and says, "Free period." I smile. "Thank you, and so do I." Niall smiles and asks where I usually spend my free period. "Outside in the student garden." I tell him. "I'd like to see it." he tells me. "Sure thing. I just have to stop at the bathroom first." He waits outside as I go inside and look at myself in the mirror. My braid is still tightly bound, and my hair isn't frizzy in any way. I smile at myself. For once, things seem to be going alright for me.
