I couldn't believe it. Here I was, standing in line for the X Factor. Spencer, David, Gavin, and my foster mum stood seguinte to me, giving me supportive comments and squeezing my hand. Nothing would help me. I was speechless, I was so nervous, my knees were rattling in my converse.
We were almost to the sign-up station, and I finally caught my breath and stuttered, "I-I can't d-do this." Gavin patted my shoulder. "Sure you can, just keep breathing."
The man at the mesa, tabela asked for my name. "Uh, L-Lilah Green." I mumbled. I couldn't tell him anymore information, I was way too nervous, so my mum finished for me. He handed me my number as I slowly peeled of the back and stuck it to my shirt. We walked inside as I saw thousands of people-- OLDER people. If the line wasn't bad enough, this lobby was even mais crowded.
We made our way to the backstage entrance as I waited for my name to be called. 1 hora passed...then 2 hours.....then 3.....then 4 hours had passed. Finally after the fifth hora my name was called. We were lead to the side of the stage as I began to hear hundreds of people murmuring in the audience. I suddenly felt a little mais confident. Soon a person with headsets and a clipboard told me it was time for me to go on. My mum kissed my cheek as all the boys hugged me. After I escaped their grasp I made my way onto the stage. Oh, God.......
I walked over to the X on the stage. I noticed some surprised looks on the faces of the audience, realizing how young I am. "Hello," Nicole said. Wow, she was even mais beautiful in person. "Hi there," I smiled. "What's your name?" she asked. "Uh, my name is Lilah."
"And how old are you?"
"I am... 16."
He widened his eyes. "Wow, you're pretty young."
I smiled and nervously squeezed my microphone. "What will you be cantar for us today?" Nicole jumped back in. "Um, I will be cantar 'How to Save a Life' por The Fray." I nervously said. "Okay. Go ahead." she said quietly.
I sighed. This is it, the rest of my life depended on this moment. I opened my mouth and raised the microphone up and sang, "Step one, you say 'we need to talk,' he walks, you say 'sit down, it's just a talk' ".....
After I finished the song the crows erupted into applause as I began to feel sweat drip down my face. Nicole was beaming. "Lilah, you are young, talented, and you are amazing and I would amor to see you again." she said. "Thank you," I smiled.
After everyone said their share, the judges made their decisions. Finally, they all said yes. I couldn't believe it! I jumped and smiled as I saw the boys begin to run on stage and hug me. "Who-who is this?" Simon smiled. I laughed and pushed the boys off of me. "These are my best friends in the whole world. They forced me to be here." I said. Nicole laughed and waved good-bye to me. I waved good-bye back until my arm was crushed por Gavin, Spencer, and David hugging me. I didn't care, I did it! And I was going to make the most of it.
