She was pretty smart about how she went about the curse. Her planning and scheming is very complex and intelligent. Belle is also very smart.

Gina is one clever *itch. If only she could direct all that deviousness towards something more productive. Belle is clever as well but she is also a bit nieve and too trusting. She sort of reminds me of myself.

It isn't naive to be manipulated by your mother. Mothers know you better then you know yourself. They are the one person in the world you should be able to trust completely. The fact that she still thinks she can trust her mother isn't a sign of weakness, it's a sign of humanity.

When Rumple played Gina she was just as young and naive as Belle is now. (She was a lot like belle before she lost everything actually. That had never acurred to me before I wonder what would happen if the same thing happened to Belle? But I suppose that is a topic for another time.) Anyway now she's more experienced and that makes her smarter.

How or when was Belle naive? You just throw words. She's the one that makes Gold - a.k.a. the Dark One listen & change. She has nothing of a naive girl in her. She is strong and determined.

I'm not trying to fight here, but I just wanted to point out that Rumple has been manipulating everyone; from Cora to Emma to Regina. So are all of them naive? I'm just gonna leave it at this.

She is constantly trusting people she shouldn't. Regina in Skin Deep for one. Then their's her complete trust in Rumple. I know she's in love with him but she seems completely oblivious to all the evil he's done. Even when Hook tells her about Milah she doesn't beleive it. I don't think it's because she stupid. It's just that she wants to trust him so badly that she is in total denial. In short; naive.

When I say naive it's not ment to be a insult. Her inocence is what makes her such a sweet and likable character. She isn't hardened by experience like Regina.

That's not a naive girl we're talking about. gina is the naive girl (even as we speak). Belle is the strong woman, with high principles, "manipulating" Gold.

@minervadawn, that's a simple thing called LOVE. Even the writers pointed out that it is wonderful to see Belle's trust in Rumps, the power of her love. And here TRUST does not mean she takes all his words for granted, or that she does whatever he says. But that she believes he can change, that she believes he can overcome the curse he cast upon himself and become the good man he once was.

Like I said I'm just going to leave it at that. So things don't get heated again. I understand and respect your opinion and I hope you do the same for me.

I know what LOVE is. It makes you braver, stronger, more alive. It gives you the strength to do things you never would have done before. It changes you. It is a beautiful thing. The closes thing we have to magic in this world. But it also makes you stupid. You trust that person unconditionally you become blind to any of their faults. Even if you try you can't truly be angry at them. It is terrifying to lose that control over your own thoughts and feelings but you cant help yourself. DON'T TRY TO TELL ME THAT I DON'T KNOW WHAT LOVE IS.

I've explained the reasoning behind my choice. I'm not going to change you mind and I never intended to. I only ment to make my feelings and opinion clear. I respect your opinion and agree that Belle is indeed a strong and intelligent young woman (that along with her curiosity and innocence is what makes her my favorite charature) but I am no longer inclined or able to continue the discussion. I'd thank you to respect that and hope that we can have other civil discussions in the future.

I too hope people won't start attacking me in the future only because I give strong arguments for my opinions, engage in discussions, don't accept being taken for a fool, and... because I don't think gina is smarter than Belle.

As far as I've read on this spot, me and Princess-Yvonne are the only ones expressing our point of view from the non-gina-fans part of OUAT fandom. And right now she's too scared to say anything.

I can't believe people are voting for Belle over Regina! Belle isn't stupid, but Regina is an evil mind that works its way to get what she wants. She can be tricked, but still she's more intelligent than Belle.
