what is up with this upcoming midseason finale?!

i heard that on december 2nd, there's gonna be a major cliffhanging midseason finale and we have to wait 5 weeks until we see what happens next! how could they do that to us?! why are they trying to kill us?! anyways, my real pergunta is, is it true we have to wait 5 whole weeks?! 4 weeks was torture enough last year! now its 5?!
