Where is the fotografia taken from of the capitol at the end of the opening credits of ncis

It's a fantasia created por the producers! BUT! It looks as if it was taken from Virginia or suburban Maryland close to the D.C. line, but that's a very bad "urban" neighborhood in Prince Georges County, Md., it looks too nice to be that. D.C. Is a very dangerous place, Abby would have been raped por now, and Ducky would have been beaten and robbed, Ziva would get by. The real ncis is at the Washington Navy Yard in Southwest D.C., one of the baddest "Hoods" in D.C. The upscale neighborhoods are in Northwest D.C., Georgetown, Chevy Chase etc.,Washington D.C. is about 90% Black, how many blacks do you see on ncis beside the token black boss? But Who cares? It's cool, live with it!...I do and I amor the show!

It is computer generated superimposed background added post production to an external scene, as ncis is filmed in California.

That is a real pic. & I think it's taken from either the White House, or the Washington Monument.

If you're talking about the whole shot, it's from JAG, episode that introduced NCIS, season 8, but I am not sure if it was episode Ice queen or Meltdown.

I have wondered the same thing. If you look closely at the shot, you can see two smoke stacks slightly to the right of the Capital building. That would be the capital power plant located on E rua , a few blocks North from the capital complex. Based on that, the shot had to be taken from somewhere NE from the capital, most likely Bladensburg Rd or possibly Rhode Island Ave. Those are the 2 streets that have 4 lanes and a median.

Guys and gals... ncis is filmed primarily at Santa Clarita Studios near my house in Santa Clarita California. They are constantly filming outdoor crime scenes in and around my town. At the end of the opening credits they simply took a real picture of the Capitol building and superimposed it in the background of real footage of McBean Parkway near my house. The shot was taken along McBean Parkway just east of both Interstate 5 as well east of the Tournament Road/ Rockwell Canyon junction with McBean. The curve in the road near the back of the shot is right before McBean Parkway runs into Orchard Village Road. For fun you can soco in 24990 McBean Parkway in Santa Clarita California and then switch to google rua View and you will see basically the same shot. Don't forget that opening sequence was filmed in probably 2002 or 2003 so the trees have gotten much older since then. But you'll see the same back of the sign that's right above "Donald" in Donald Bellisario's name (in the credits) in google rua View. Don't forget that they shot from a large boom guindaste as well, so hence it is slightly above Google's rua View level.

The smokestacks you see are the Capitol Power Plant is a fossil-fuel burning power plant which provides steam and chilled water for the United States Capitol, the Supreme Court, the biblioteca of Congress and 19 other buildings in the Capitol Complex. Located at 25 E St SE in southeast Washington, D.C.
