A lot of us have heard the recent news: Marcus and Niomi have gone their separate ways.
I won't lie, they were honestly one of my favorito ships. I always looked progressivo, para a frente to Marcus's and Niomi's vlogs, not only because I enjoyed seeing the two but because I cherished whatever bits of their relationship they would share with us viewers. It made me squeal with delight whenever they kissed or held hands or embraced. And their amor was just as evident in their main channel collaboration videos: the way they looked at the other just gave it away.
I adored Narcus...and I was sad to hear of their split. But it's not the first time Youtubers have publicly ended their relationships either.
Several youtube couples that I shipped have dividido, dividir up already. For example, Anthony (from Smosh) and his ex-fiancee Kalel had a separate channel vlogging channel dedicated to their relationship called Watch Us Live and Stuff. We even got to see their proposal on video, something that's painful to watch nowadays. Also, I should mention Shane Dawson and Lisa Schwartz. Both Shane and Lisa posted heartbreaking vídeos detailing why they had to breakup, saving viewers from any possible speculations. In fact, Lisa's video titled "Explaining My Breakup" was one of the most raw, unedited pieces of footage she's ever posted on her channel.
Though these breakups have left me feeling disappointed and anguished lately, they got me thinking about my role as a youtube viewer and how to behave on youtube in general.
youtube only gives viewers a glimpse into the lives of celebrities like Marcus and Niomi. There's obviously so much mais of their days that we don't get to see, and despite all that they choose to share with us, they deserve the right to keep some information private. This is the reason why it's so important to back off or leave some topics alone when asked to por a Youtuber, especially when we wouldn't be able to understand. Marcus and Niomi, for example, have both asked for patience and privacy in the aftermath of their breakup. They don't want to share the reasons behind their separation, nor should they have to. As viewers, we shouldn't be pestering them to get back together or continuously wondering why they broke up; rather, we should try our best to support them in their hardship. It's okay to be sad-every shipper has the right to mourn the sinking of their favorito ship-but it's not okay to push all that grief back onto the couple themselves.
In the end, I can only sympathize with the struggles of my favorito Youtubers. While I may feel pain for the loss of a relationship I adored, my pain is nothing compared to the suffering of those actually involved. Nonetheless, though I am just one in the voices of many, at least I can choose not to worsen the situation por spewing misunderstanding and/or confusion. Instead of ranting on and on about why the couple dividido, dividir or when they might get back together, why not focus on helping soothe their emotional wounds? It wasn't an easy decision for either partner, so as viewers the best we can do is to show both of them that we care whether it's through a love-filled comment or simply giving them the time and o espaço that they need to heal.
