I just feel like Sm-Locke really is good... I think when IT kills, it is done with purpose. And I see it as the protector of the island. Yes, killing in itself is evil, but I think whoever has died at the hand of Smokey probably deserved it.

Maybe it only kills people who are a treat for the island, but still I don`t see IT as "good".But then again I`m probably wrong cause it`s Lost and what seems obvious is usually wrong..lol

I think Smokey is "the island" - And I don't really view "the island" as evil. That's really why I think Smokey is good. On another note, I think whenever this island sprung up/appeared/was born, Smokey came to... I think people like Jacob and Richard came later. Which makes me think those guys are actually the evil ones.

Even though it was just an "inside joke" I think the throwing of the 'white' rock spoke mountains of what he really is. He is the 'man in black' whereas Jacob was the 'man in white'.

They each represent a side to the balance of the island (why the rocks were on the scale), which is quite possibly why Flocke couldn't kill Jacob himself and needed Ben to do it. Thus mirroring the speech of Locke's backgammon game in s1.

I agree with OceanCoast too. I'm just sure that he's not good. Yes, he uncovered some mysteries to Sawyer, but I just have a feeling that everything is more comlicated than it seems. Btw, I wonder why Richard said that Flocke wants all of the losties dead...

I'm starting to believe that it's not about a good/evil "battle" between Jacob and Flock... but fate/freewill!

I strongly believe it'd be totally arbitrary to give labels like good or evil to either Jacob or the Man in Black. He's more than likely both the same way I assume Jacob is.
