References: The power station that Goodwin worked at and that Faraday and charlotte were traveling is named the Tempest. William Shakespeare’s final play was named The Tempest. The protagonist of the play, Prospero shipwrecks on a mystical island with his daughter Miranda. Prospero hones his magical powers on the island much like John Locke. Caliban, one of Prospero’s servants, was born on the island and believes that it belongs to him. He acquaints Prospero with the island much like Ben.

Respuestas: I just want to start off por saying that Michael Emerson’s portrayal of Ben is nothing short of genius. He roubou the show tonight. He showed much mais range than what we’re used to seeing.

That being said, Ben had a good bit of character development this episode. The long standing belief that Ben has a crush on Juliet was confirmed. Whether he genuinely loves her or merely feels that he owns her is up to debate.

I believe part of him loves Juliet and would do anything for her. As a fertility specialist, she is atuação like a mother to the whole island por attempting to bring new life back to it. He can’t help but yearn for a woman who will make him the father of a whole new nation. He also wants her to fill the hole in his coração that was left when he lost his mother.

According to Harper, Juliet “look[s] just like her”. My guess is that the woman in pergunta is Annie, Ben’s childhood friend and first love. He killed her along with his innocence in the purge. Ben is trying to go back to less complicated time through Juliet.

In another sense, Ben feels that Juliet is like the wooden doll Annie carved for him. She is his to hold. His perfect little woman. Ben is still very childish in that he believes that people can be owned. He just doesn’t understand that he can’t control who people amor because he was raised without love.

My pregunta last week, “What does Charles Widmore want with the Black Rock?” was answered. Widmore wants to find the island and turn it into a tourist attraction. That’s slightly less insidious than I expected.

Más Preguntas: How bored must the Locke followers be por now? They are used to daily escapades with Jack and the gang and now they’re playing horseshoe. I grew up in a small town with numerous horseshoe stakes. I know that people only play horseshoe when there absolutely nothing else to do. It is a game of chance, depth perception, and boredom.

Why does Claire want to talk to Miles? Since the birth of Aaron, she hasn’t had any interest in island politics. Now, she’s ready and willing to play the mum card to get to Miles to talk. What has changed? Is she going to try to make a deal with Miles so she can get off the island with Aaron?

What is Ben’s plan?

When will Dharma drop off mais food? How does the Dharma plane get through the bubble around the island? Why hasn’t Dharma noticed the lack of reports from the island? How does Dharma get chicken and other livestock to the island? Will Locke slaughter the cow Frank Lapidus saw when he first came to the island? Will they end up eating Kate’s horse too? Is Vincent seguro from Lock the Butcher?

How did Locke acquire all these crazy practical manly man skills? He seemed like an indoors type of guy before he lost the use of his legs. Did he get an Indian guide before he tried to go on that walkabout?

How did Ben get so freakin’ smart? What kind of training program did Dharma have for janitors?

Who is leading the Others now that Ben is living seguinte door to Sawyer and Hugo? Is he still leading them for afar?

What happened to Annie? Was she killed in the purge? Did she leave the island? Did she die in childbirth?

Who does Juliet look like?

Why were Goodwin the plumber and Ethan the surgeon working together? Were they working Dr. Toilet?

What is black smoke?

We know Jacob as a soul of this island. And in the last episode of season 5, we saw him and knew a lot of things about him. It was really long-awaited information. But I want to talk not about him, but about the man who was his enemy. We can see him talking to Jacob in the beginning of the last episode. From their conversation we can understand that this man (everyone calls him Anti-Locke) wants Jacob to die. And in the end of ‘The Incident’ he gets what he always wanted. He used Locke and Ben to do it. And I think that he IS a black smoke, a monster, and all phantoms...
