What do you think about Sawyer and Jack's relationship? Could they ever be close friends?

I actually think that it is a possiblility. While they seem like the are not alike, I actually think that both characters are cut from the same cloth. We already know they have the same taste in women, lol. But on a serious note they are both strong men that act in a protector role when it is nessecary. They are both willing to do anything to protect the ones they care about. While Jack is mais honest then Sawyer, Jack is also mais pompous and goody goody. Both are qualities that are only good in small doses. I think that if they can get over the whole girl thing they could be really good friends. Sawyer could help Jack to relax and take chances, while Jack could help to calm Sawyer down at times and teach him how to be a little less sarcastic.

It's definitely a possibility. At first, they seemed to hate each other, but we've already had a few emotional scenes with both of them. For example, the scene where Sawyer told Jack that he met his father- Sawyer didn't have to tell him about that at all, but he must have felt that it was necessary (and I bet Jack appreciated hearing about this). In addition, don't forget the scene from season 2 in which Sawyer told Jack about his rendezvous with Ana Lucia in the jungle... Sawyer told Jack that he was "the closest thing he had to a friend". Of course, that was then; things have changed. They may act a little differently towards each other now, but that still doesn't out-rule the possibility of them becoming close friends.

No, I don't think so! Of course I remember that Sawyer said about their friendship (when Ana Lucia died), and about meeting Jack's father, but still. They are too different and can't supplement each other. On the island they have to communicate as two leader-persons, but nothing mais (that's why they became something like friends) and it isn't about girl-stuff, it's about their characters. They know they can trust and relay on each other in front of the enemy or other danger, but that's all they have in common. They just don't like each other from the first scene=)

they can help each other leading but I don't think they could be close friends.they would have to deal with each other since they sre on the same team and I think that Sawyer doesn't really like Jack and Jack doesn't like Sawyer and after everything we've seen in the previose seasons I don't see them becoming close friends

I think they can.I remember Sawyer saying to Jack, "Cause you're about the closest thing I got to a friend,doc."So I can see them as friends.

As much as I would amor a Sawyer/Jack relationship. I know it won't happen. But I think...yeah...they could be close friends if they get the chance.

No,aboselutely not...,from the first tim it was clear that they never would be "friends",remember they protagonisted in an "love triangle" for the most of the season...until sawyer was "in amor with Juliet" and that awful couple existed...
