What's Going On With The New Little Mix Album? 

Their last two albums were given November releases but it seems there’ll be no such luck with Little Mix’s third offering. With most of the year’s music now announced (bar any possible Beyonce-style surprises), it looks like we’ll be waiting into well into 2015 for the follow-up to Salute.

Now we’ve accepted that ‘Nothing Feels Like You’ won’t be released as a single, we’re beyond ready for new music from Perrie Edwards, Jesy Nelson, Jade Thirlwall and Leigh-Anne Pinnock - but what exactly are they cooking up?

We know Jess Glynne has been in the studio with the ladies, thanks to a behind-the-scenes vid posted earlier this month. The ‘Right Here’ singer, who sang the vocals on the phenomenally successful ‘Rather Be’ with Clean Bandit, seems a perfect fit for the ladies; as does Becky Hill, who\'s had a studio selfies with the girls very recently. It’s not known if she’s singing with the band or on co-writing duties, but given the quality of the former Voice contestant’s debut single ‘Losing’, it\'s just great that she\'s in the mix at all.

MNEK, who produced ‘Nothing Feels Like You’ and Hill’s ‘Losing’, is also involved again, as is the pop connoisseur’s choice of queen: Marina and the Diamonds. "We\'re really excited. We just want to get [the album] out but we\'re taking our time and having fun with it. We\'re working with some amazing people,” Perrie told Digital Spy after a pleasing bit of name-dropping.

On top of that, there\'s also Jessie J (ANOTHER \'PARTY IN THE USA\' WILL DO NICELY PLEASE), the ridiculously cool Tom Aspaul, JinJin (Jess Glynne, Clean Bandit) and Mark J Feist (American Idol\'s Jessica Sanchez). We have our fingers crossed that a brief comment from Cher Lloyd about collaboration discussions came to fruition, and also that they\'ve hooked up with TMS (\'Wings\', \'DNA\') again. Judging by this rather rude picture from A STUDIO over the summer, the signs are encouraging...

The fact that the girls STILL seem to be having studio sessions points towards A) an album with a vast amount of care and craft being poured out to it; but also B) an album that isn\'t going to be ready for release for a little while yet. But perhaps if we cross our fingers real hard we can at least have the lead single before long. It does seem like they have, at least, already taken the artwork shots for the campaign, if this hint from Jesy is anything to go by. "Can’t wait for you to see some pics from our new album," she tweeted alongside a throwback snap from the Salute shoot.

The first quarter of the year is famously quiet for single and album sales... so perhaps the ladies can inject a fresh burst of energy into those January blues. We can but hope.
