I used to think so. But that was honestly before I had a REAL idea of what the term truly meant, and all that it entailed:

1) Lovers whose relationship is doomed to fail are said to be “star-crossed” (frustrated by the stars), because those who believe in astrology claim that the stars control human destiny.

2) Opposed by fate; ill-fated: star-crossed lovers.

3) The term star-crossed lovers is talking about the zodiac signs. The zodiac's are stars in the sky, and in Romeo and Juliets case there star signs paths were doomed to cross over. This also signified the end of there relationship.

...The ultimate meaning is that the stars aren't aligned for the couple to be together. They're doomed from the start. They will NEVER be endgame, or even together at all, for that matter. Which obviously... isn't LP. It's pretty much the exact opposite of them, considering that LP is all about fate, and being destined from the start. I actually used to think that THAT was the meaning of "star-crossed lovers", and that it was all about it being in the stars that the couple WILL be together. Which is why I used to think it fit LP. But turns out, that's not the meaning at all! lol the only definition that I could find that could apply to LP is:

Two people who care immensely for each other, but due to their circumstaces, cannot be together.

While they did face many obstacles, the fact that they DID end up together means they cannot be star-crossed. A couple can only be star crossed if it doesn't end up well for them

I don't want to pick no because I do think Lucas and Peyton have been through a lot. But like every one else said they got a happy ending. And star- crossed lovers are supposed to end in a tragic way. If say something like Peyton dies in season 6 during the whole baby situation, then they deffinetly would be considered star-crossed lovers.

I'd consider them soulmates. Starcrossed lovers means that they don't end up together.
