I awoke to the sun shining brightly through an open window on a Saturday morning, a slightly chilly breeze made the evergreen curtains on my dossel, cartaz quatro cama wave. The sun beat down on me as I hopped out of cama and got dressed into my black crop topo, início and black jean shorts. Inside was a variety of dresses and jackets, but I pushed them all aside and made my way to the back of the closet, grabbed my high-heeled boots from a cubby, and pulled a key out of them. Then, I kneeled down to a brown wooden tronco, porta-malas and unlocked it. Inside sat a black zip-up leather jaqueta and a cruz necklace.
I took a deep breath and picked up the colar por the chain and slowly put it around my neck, then I picked up the leather jaqueta and put it on. I stood up, closed the trunk, and walked out of the closet, hearing my phone ring.
I picked it up, recognizing the number, "Hello? Is this C?" a voice modifier sounded, "Who is this?" I asked in return. There was a slight pause. "This is N. I need you to come to LA, California. There is a case I need your help on" it replied, I paused, my breathing was shaky, and my coração was pounding against my chest. Thoughts ping-ponged around in my head as I tried to grasp the idea that this was happening. "Alright...I-I'll be there," I said, and he hung up. With reckless abandon I threw clothes, personal belongings, and makeup into my suitcase and got in the car, LA wasn't far from there. 'This is crazy' I said, it had been four years since I had walked away from detective work, but it was calling me back.

I walked up to the warehouse and took a deep breath, remembering what had happened here, the mistakes I had made, the way I lost my cool. I put a black motorcycle capacete on, I couldn't be too careful in light of the events that happened a couple of years before. I pulled on black fingerless leather biker gloves and slid open the door. Inside sat a strange young man twirling his white hair, he wore a mask though, a silly one with painted black hair.
I walked in to face him, keeping my distance. "Hello C," he said, I nodded, "there will be no need for the helmet, you should know you can trust everybody in this room" he added. "Then why are you wearing the mask?" I asked, he sort of flinched, as if caught por surprise, then chuckled, "Because I don't know if I can still trust you" he said.
I sighed, "Take off the mask. If you do, I will take off the helmet" I said, he agreed, and we both took our face coverings off. Near's albino-white hair framed his pale face, his eyes were fixed on me. He picked up a chocolate bar and held it out, "Chocolate? You know, for old time's sake?" he asked. I smiled and walked over, he handed me the chocolate bar, "I never knew you ate chocolate all the time like this" I said to him, looking at a pile of chocolate bars seguinte to him.

"We have a case that we think involves a Death Note...and it might have something to do with L..." he said, I froze. Why would a crime have anything to do with L? He had been dead for ten years.
"No, it's not possible...why would this case have anything to do with him?" I asked. "Someone, we don't know who yet, is playing Kira's game on a whole nother level, this time, no one is off-limits," Near said, picking up legos with his fingertips and placing them on topo, início of each other. "Well, I think we should hold off on making a public announcement just yet" his voice sounded, I stopped pacing, "I say we monitor the killings first, then broadcast a message" he added, "you're just like Mello C, reckless and emotional in a crisis"
