Well, would you look at this. I've gotten so bored that I'm going to write an artigo about all of my favorito animê / mangá characters, just because.
This is just for entertainment. I apologize, I am honestly not very skilled at expressing my own feelings or putting my thoughts into words, so forgive me if these seem to be rather confusing and repetitive. Also, feel free to express your opinion, whether it be positive, negative, critical, etcetera, in the comments.
Enjoy!

((Psssssttttt, por the way, there will most likely be spoilers, so watch your back . . .))
10. ~ Naomi Misora | Death Note
It's really quite hard to explain why I amor Naomi so much. She was really just such a likeable character in general. Despite the fact that in both the animê and mangá she was only seen for a select few episodes / chapters, she was still shown to be quite strong, dedicated, and highly intelligent. I enjoyed her role in the novel, as well, where we got a bit of a deeper glimpse into her personality. She was kind, with a nice bit of snark to her, making her fun to read about. But unlike most of the other characters in Death Note she was just so . . . Normal. She had her fair share of quirks, but at the same time she was quite the realistic and average human being, and I appreciate that in her.
9. ~ Lelouch vi Brittania / Lamperouge | CODE GEASS: Lelouch of the Rebellion
Lelouch was por far the best character CG had to offer. Mainly in the sense that his development was phenomenal, assisting in making up for the other characters in the series who may have lost meaning overtime. We got to watch as he gained the power of GEASS and fought for his goal to overthrow Brittania, as he slowly grew into the feared villain known as 'Zero' and eventually succeeded in creating the empire he sought for. But he then sacrificed himself to uphold that goal. His personality was intriguing as well. He was cunning on a masterfully level and he held so much wisdom. But he was caring as well, as we discovered that his original goal was to protect his sister Nunnally. Lelouch was such a phenomenal character, and one of the best I've come across.
8. ~ Johan Liebert | Monster
Another one of 'those' characters . . . I find it difficult to pinpoint why I adore Johan as much as I do. Honestly, I can only think of two solid reasons, the first being that he was just so interesting. A sadistic monster from childhood who went through so many places and circumstances under so many names, the creators of monster purposely chose to surround his character in complete mystery. Throughout the series one could really only guess at what his motives were. He was highly and intelligent and cunning, that much was obvious, but we never quite got a completely clear glimpse into his personality.
The segundo reason is simply that I could relate to him. While his no geral, global personality was unclear he did express certain views and opinions at various points, and I was surprised to find that I could connect with them rather strongly.
7. ~ Alois Trancy | Kuroshitsuji
Alois may as well have been the entire segundo season of kuroshitsuji for me. He receives a great amount of hate due what people call his 'bratty behavior'. While it's true he displayed some rather displeasurable behavior he was in no way entirely without reason. Poor Alois was abandoned por everyone he'd ever known until he had no one but his little brother left, and even then he ended up discovering Luca dead. He was kidnapped, raped, and turned into a sex slave for a disgusting old man, and survived through making a contract with a demon. I can only imagine how starved for amor he must have been at this point, and in the end that was all he ever wanted. Somebody to make him feel loved. Alois was a tragic character and I deeply feel for him. I could connect with his personality in certain levels as well, both in the general way we act and personally.
6. ~ Lucy / Nyü / Kaede | Elfen Lied
mais tragedy galore. It was absolutely heartbreaking to get a look into Lucy / Nyü / Kaede's past and realize the kind of person she really was. The poor girl was cursed from the moment of her birth to never be a normal person, it was obvious from her childhood that she hated her horns and she hated herself. Discriminated and bullied por everyone, Kouta was likely the first fonte of real amor she'd ever known in her life. Her three personalities connect perfectly with each other to create a complex and tragic person. I personally am partial to Kaede; I believe she was good example of the loneliness and discriminated feeling she must have felt throughout her entire life, a feeling that no doubt stood for all other Dicloni as well. I am mainly attached to Lucy / Nyü / Kaede emotionally, her being one of the few characters to truly make me feel sadness, and for that connection she deserves a spot on this list.
5. ~ Miyo Takano | Higurashi No Naku Koro ni
I adore the amount of depth that was put into Miyo's character. On first glance she was nothing but a despicable villain who committed despicable actions. However, in a similar manner to Alois, she was in no way completely without reason. Miyo was tortured as a child to the point where she could be seen crying out to God, demanding him to kill her if he had the power. No doubt por time she was taken in por Dr. Takano she was already severely broken. She loved him beyond belief, and it hurt her severely to watch others trample on his work. It was inevitable that she would snap at one point or another, it broke my coração to watch her fight for both a way to avenge Takano and to realize that inside she only wanted a reason to live, a reason to feel accepted. I was extremely happy to see that at the very end of the last episode she received the redemption she deserved.
4. ~ Homura Akemi | Puella Magi Madoka Magica
Oh, Homura. Homura. Now we're getting into characters that just left me shaking pitifully in the dust.
Her development was wonderful. At the beginning she was just there for what seemed to be nothing but push the others away from Kyubey with no apparent motive. But moving forward, taking a look at the original worldline Homura makes you truly realize how much emotional pain and torture she must have been through, going back again and again only to see the closest friend she'd ever known die every time. And even at the very end when Madoka finally lived then she was still wiped from the memory of all but Homura. Poor Homura was so loyal, and went through so much pain for who she loved, and I adore her for it
While I'm not exactly fond of the 'Homucifer' concept, I do rather like the symbolism it held for some of Homura's feelings. It went to show how broken, beaten down, lonely, and desperate she really was.
3. ~ L Lawliet | Death Note
There are many reasons that I amor L, some of which are hard to explain. Even on the surface he was just so entertaining and fun to watch. He had so many fun little quirks and habits that are symbolic to him alone and that kept the viewer constantly entertained. His wit and humor were unmatched, he was just great to watch. But at the same time he was so much mais underneath; his great intellegence, deductive skills, and surface character were never all there was to him. As person he was very wise, with many deep insights into the world in general. Underneath he knew how to be kind, and as it seemed, he was very likely lonely. l saw himself as a monster and that, in itself, is rather heartbreaking. He was so unique and complex in so many different ways, and it made him such a wonderful character.
2. ~ Mihael 'Mello' Keehl | Death Note
Where do I begin.
Where.
Where do I begin.
Mello was just, overall, so tragic and misunderstood, as both a character and a person. I'll admit that at first I didn't like him, I found him to be annoying, impulsive, and rather irrelevant to the plot. But after looking deeper and leitura "Another Note" I regret ever hating him in the first place. Underneath he was just so intelligent and well-spoken as a person. He had a way with words, and a knack for understanding people, and yet there was never anyone around who was able to understand him. He could have led a far better life, but he let himself get caught in the invisible game of defeating Near and succeeding L. Poor Mello never had a real friend, or anyone to set him on the right path. It breaks my coração to think that, as viewers, we have the ability to understand him so well, but despite that he remained alone. During the series, seeing him just resign and give in to death, sacrificing himself for the sake of the Kira case, made me feel like crying.
I still find it hard to explain. But Mello's character hit me very emotionally and personally, he has a special place in my heart.
1. ~ 💗Lain Iwakura | Serial Experiments Lain💗
Ah, Lain. The character who has effected me mais than any other has, and likely ever will.
I'll start with the obvious reasons that I and many others enjoy her character. Her development and execution were done to near perfection. She had humble beginnings, the sweet little schoolgirl in the corner who always seemed unsure of herself. But her upcoming role in the wired was done absolutely beautifully. In those 13 episodes she gradually escalated to the god she was meant to be. And in the end, upon realizing her impact and what was happening within the wired she gave up something ultimate, sacrificing not just her life, but her very existence. And she did this while still attempting to protect the one person she knew loved and understood her. Her symbolism was embodied in her character wonderfully as well, portraying the effects of individuals and the world in general becoming too wrapped up in the haven we call the internet.
But then there are other reasons. You see, I can relate to Lain's character on an extreme level in so many different ways. Personally, Psychologically, emotionally, I can honestly say that I have never come across a character or even a real person who is able to represent my personality, emotions, beliefs, and no geral, global self so completely and perfectly. I could even go as far as to say that she helped me to understand parts of myself that I was having trouble comprehending and accepting. It doesn't really feel like I've found a fictional character that represents me, it feels as if I've discovered a best friend who understands me better than anyone else ever has.
Lain Iwakura will always hold a personal, deep, and very special place in my heart. My amor for her character goes beyond what I can express, and I will forever adore her. <3
