~How to make your own animê character~

.:. Steps.:.

Choose a gender and an age for your character. You should also decide whether you want your character to be human, animal, or something else.

Choose a personality for your character. His or her appearance will depend on this personality. Emo, punk, perky, selfish, sensitive, or peppy are some ideas, though complex personalities make your characters mais well-rounded and unique. If you can't decide, make flashcards with different personality traits written on them and pick one randomly.

Choose your character’s talents. Is the character...

Most often it's easy to understand animê fashion, after all, mainstream fashion tends to be shared all around the world.

But on the odd occasion, when watching your favorito shows or leitura your favorito manga, you'll find something that doesn't quite make sense.

Perhaps you've come across a teenage girl with apparently demure tastes, but an iron-fisted approach to life?

Or maybe a man who looks like a cruz between a biker and an Elvis impersonator?

Curious as to what it all means or where it comes from? Read on!

~How to run a successful animê club?~

First, make arrangements for a meeting place. Make sure your location will be available when ever you plan to have your meetings.

Make a schedule. Plan ahead what dia and time you will have your meetings to keep members from getting confused. Make sure that time works for the majority of the members.

Create posters. Make bright posters that clearly explain what the club is and when meetings are. Be sure to ask your principal where these posters can be placed. Also try to put an announcement for your club in your school's newspaper or on the...

Lovely Complex ~ The Complete Series
Lovely Complex ~ The Complete Series

Risa and Otani have height problems. Risa is mega-tall and Otani is mega-short and both of them hate it. A particularly perceptive and sarcastic teacher has labeled them “All Hanshin Kyojin,” after a popular comic act with a distinctive height gap. The two fight constantly and frequently hilariously, which doesn't help. In their own way they're good friends though, and they have weirdly compatible tastes, so their friends are always urging them to get together. But that seems unlikely. There's the height difference of course, but also they just don't see each other that way. Until,...

~What is animê exactly?~

The word animê -- pronounced "ah-knee-may" -- is an abbreviation of the word animation. In Japan, the word's used to refer to all animation. Outside of Japan, it's become the catch-all term for animation from Japan.
For decades, animê was produced por and for Japão -- a local product, with a distinct look-and-feel to not just the artwork but the storytelling, the themes, and the concepts. Over the last forty years, though, it's become an international phenomenon, attracting millions of fãs and being translated into many languages. A whole generation of viewers in the...

Be Realistic. Don't expect to fight alien-robots for the sake of the world on a Saturday morning.

Be Adventurous and Curious. This is how all the animê and mangá starts por the characters seeking for trouble. Don't worry, trouble doesn't always mean you are going to be in danger. Always pergunta the unknown. Ride the public bus once in a while and meet new friends. Instead of watching TV every morning, go for a walk and explore the forested nothing behind your house. Try to always do something everyday, and meet all the new people that you can. Meeting new people is the key to having...

Classifying animê into genres can be tricky por itself, but coming up with a set list of all the possible animê genres is even mais difficult. So today I’m going to make an attempt at examining the odds and ends of animê genres…

At some point, whenever I watch a new series, I think, “What genre would I place this animê in?” or “If I were to recommend this animê to someone, especially someone unfamiliar with anime, what genres would I say it consists of?” I’ve done this many times, and I was especially focused on animê genres when I was working on my “What is Anime? – the Visual...

Figure out what genre you're into. As with books and movies, animê has genres. Are you a fantasia person, a horror, romantic, comedy, action? First figure out what you like most to help ease yourself into the artform.

Look online for classic animê of the genre. While you can find animê online [we'll talk about that later] it is good to research what animê you're interested in since animê can be costly.

The art style. A particular animê might be your genre, the art style might turn you off. 80's animê looks different from newer animê thanks to unique and changing styles. As well, some...

Master the shapes. animê and mangá are drawn in a stylized manner. Heads are round with large, round eyes, usually low on the face. Chins are triangular. Lines for things like eyebrows and mouths are usually simple.

Pay attention to the shading. animê is typically shaded boldly but simply. Look at where highlights and shadows fall and how it gives a feeling of depth to the characters. Eyes are an especially important detail, but hair, faces, and costumes usually have at least some shading, too.

Use colors. animê characters often have bold colors, whether on their costumes or their...

When you step into the world of anime, you step into a world of wacky colored hair and crazy hairstyles! After you've watched a couple of series, though, you might notice that certain types of characters have certain styles or as cores of hair. Is this a coincidence? Are they copying each other? No! Read on as I guide you through colors, styles, and real life examples!

Nekoni - An animê style artist has been kind enough to give us a few thoughts on the reasons behind the coloring and styling on animê hair styles.

Method One: A Large Eye

Sketch a long curve. Then draw another shorter curve opposite the first. Add slightly curved lines down from each end. This is the basic eye. The topo, início curve is typically thicker than the bottom. Notice the mini-line at the end of the topo, início eyelid. This is a characteristic of the animê style.
 Step 1

Anime Genres List (With Description)

Action - por far one of the most common genres out there and the name basically explains it all, normally animê based solely on this genre tends to be lacking in substance although exciting due to lack of character development or an underlying story, to resolve this creators of action based animê try to mix in other genres, usually comedy, Adventure or Fantasy. Typical Examples of this Genre are Bleach, One Piece and Freezing.

Adventure - Also another popular genre of Anime, as the same suggests it deals alot with characters moving around and exploring new...
