15 reasons we’re excited for series 2 of Humans

If you don’t own a TV or check any of your social media accounts, you are forgiven for not knowing that last night was the finale of our favourite synth drama Humans on Channel 4.

But before we had the chance to let our heads explode and compile a letter to Channel 4 demanding answers to all unanswered questions, we learnt that Humans will indeed return for a second season. Yay.

Although no air date has been confirmed we’re already super excited for a number of reasons:

Niska behaves the way you wish you could whenever you have a bad day. Except she behaves this way every single day. She was last seen on a train, destination unknown, clutching the hard drive containing the secret code for consciousness. Whatever she does next, it’s sure to be explosive.

Our favourite human-synth and moody teenager simply have to get together. There were definitely a few sparks, and now that Haroon hasn’t been mentioned for a while there is a chance this love story may just blossom. Let’s just hope that Leo takes his annual shower before seeing Mattie next.

Fred was last seen shut down and hidden under a blanket due to having been tampered with to force loyalty to evil Hobb. Based on how conniving Hobb is, we’re sure he will discover Fred and use him against his synth family.

Now with the secret code not so secret anymore what does this mean for the conscious synths? Will they spread the code? If they did, what would this mean for humans?

Leo’s flashbacks just so happen to be on a smartphone and a laptop. And we all know that gadgets have a tendency to be stolen/hacked. If these are leaked we bet there will be some panic.

All jumpers worn by synths have been of an extremely cosy and snug looking nature. Seeing more of these is always a good thing.

Laura was an unlikeable character to begin with but now she has transformed herself into the type of mum we all wish we had. The type of mum that threatens evil men like Hobb, outsmarts the police and saves your synth mates with consciousness from being destroyed. We love you Laura.

Somehow he has redeemed himself by pitching in to save the synths and appears to have been accepted by his family. Due to this, he will now be referred to simply as ‘ginger man’.  But if he sleeps with one more synth he will be hated by all, and banished to his shed.

Phil (aka the original synth despiser) is now having to eat his words after falling for one. Will it be a case of happily ever after? Would be sweet if it was, seeing as Karen could really do with someone being nice to her.

Apparently synths can’t get scars, but Karen has one? Could this possibly have something to do with the suspicious death of David Elster? She despised him, so could she have been involved in something far more murkier?

If Niska has Mattie’s hard drive does that mean there are two hard drives where the code is stored? Did Niska prove her distrust of humans by not actually putting the secret code on to the hard drive given to the Hawkins? Either way the drama of the secret code is no-where near over yet.

Sure, synths may be threatening jobs, our interactions with one another and taking all of the good jumpers, but surely their existence can’t be that bad? According to the pro-human movement they are, and we bet it’s not long before they discover that synths have consciousness and chaos will ensue.

Something about this fella never made us feel comfortable, and then we discovered we were right not to trust him as he wants to give consciousness to synths, and then to enslave them. He can’t be too pleased at the way things have turned out, and probably has a few evil plans lined up.

Poor kid gave up his chance to kiss a girl because of his massive crush on Anita. We’re really hoping that he manages to get a girlfriend, or at least a date to Nandos with one.

Most importantly, will the synths be saved? Will they be allowed to leave peacefully now that they have unlocked the key to give all synths consciousness? Most likely not, and we’re excited to see the impending battle commence.
