Very much so. Since Nick Frost's character died in Shaun of the Dead I was expecting it to be the same in Hot Fuzz.

They were following Hollywood movie convention to the letter so I knew what was coming. They ALWAYS do this sort of thing in the blockbusters. It is a parody after all.

The thing, alexmcneice, is that Hot Fuzz is not a Hollywood movie or a blockbuster, as wasn't Shaun of the dead also, which I suppose you haven't seen yet. They are 100% brit films that are not afraid to show more unconventional things than americans.It's just that, in this case, I had a feeling that Danny would live in the end.

It is always used in movies and i admit i didn't know if danny was dead 'til isaw Nicholas covering 'Irene' on the grave....then i was positive Danny lived.

I was worried that he had really died when they changed to "one year after". But when I saw that Angel "conveniently" covered the grave's first name I said "that's too convenient, it must be Danny's mother".

I was actually on the brink of crying.

Because I had seen Shaun of the Dead I thought they had killed off Danny this time like they killed off Ed. I was actually talking back to the movie saying, " Please don't do this." I was upset, I was wondering if they were going to kill off Nick Frost characters every damn time. I am so glad he lived.

the first time i saw it i thought he did for a while, now i've seen it like a million times and i can't get enough of it!
